Poor service!
I ordered high-speed internet service from AT&T, was told I would get a rebate, filled out forms, called, and have not received this rebate. I am extremely unhappy with this provider, and as soon as I have time to change I will.

No one would listen to me at AT&T
I got a call about 2 weeks ago from our Family Service Counselor at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Now for everyone's information we are in the death care industry so it is very important for our main line to function properly. He told me that there was something wrong with the phone lines. Our current provider is at&t. So I asked him what the problem was? He said, "Well I can't get calls in and I can't check the voice mail on the main line." He said that you can't fax out and you can't receive faxes in on the fax line. But, when you call the fax line it rings on the main line. So we assumed that because of some bad weather that we had been having that the lines got crossed outside or something along that line. So, I called at&t customer repair. I talked with a customer service rep. and they connected me to one of the techs. in the area. So he said, "Yeah it must be the outside lines I will send someone out as soon as possible." So about 2 days later a tech came out. We tried the phone lines and it still didn't work. So I called at&t again and told them the problem and that it was not fixed. They said, ok we will send out another tech. By this time about a week has passed and finally another tech shows up to fix the lines. He leaves and we check the lines and they still aren't fixed. So again I call the phone company and proceed to get them to understand how important this matter is considering what kind of service we provide. Then they said that on 9/10/07 they would send a tech out to look at the inside of the building because they think that's where the problem is and not outside. So they go, ok we will send a tech out between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. This time no one ever even showed up at all no phone call or nothing!!!! So I call them and they tell me, oh I have no idea how come they didn't come out. We will send someone out on 9/11/07 to look at them again at about the same time they were supposed to on 9/10/07. Again today it's 9/11/07 and they never showed again. NO PHONE CALL OR ANYTHING!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS??? It has been about 2 weeks to get someone out from at&t to get the phone line fixed. I had to take time out again and call at&t to tell them that I need this fixed immediately and how ridiculous there customer service was. So here I sit after 2 weeks with no phone line at that location because I can't get any kind of help! All of our corporate offices use this phone company and how uneasy is it that we can't even get our phone lines fixed so a Funeral Home can call us to tell us about someone who is deceased because AT&T won't give me a straight answer or get the job done like keep telling me they are going to do.

Rebates
I submitted a rebate for $50.00 from at&t for their high speed internet. I sent the rebate febuary 22, 2007. My husband then called august 7 , 2007, they claimed we didn't send the activation sticker. How funny? How would you have my infomation then? So the girl my husband spoke to said she would resubmit it and would take 4 weeks. I waited 4 weeks. Called again, spoke with tiffany. She claims it was submitted and we would have to wait another 8-12 weeks, and additional 4 weeks for full processing. That's approximately another 4 months. So its taking over a year to process a rebate? Ridiculous. I wish i would of read the other complaints before i signed up with AT&T.

Complete nightmare and run around
I called customer service at AT&T and have been sitting on the phone for over an hour and a half. The customer service people are absolutely rude and would put me on hold and pass me to the next person for me to explain everything all over again. I sit there for over 45 minutes to explain the situation and was then passed on to another person just so I am told that there are no notes in the system about my call.
I had moved to a new home and had transferred my service. I told them I do not need a phone so if there is anything I can do to get the internet service without the phone. I was then told it is cheaper to have the phone line and the internet. So I had the internet and phone transferred... come to find out 2 months later that they had already disconnected my internet service. The service is not provided in my location. Then I was transferred again waiting another 30 minutes before someone would get on the phone... to tell me that whoever it was that was on the phone had misinformed me but my area should have internet service. They have given such a run around. I just don't know where to go from here but to cancel my service and hope to God that no one will ever have to go through this nightmare!

They really damaged my soul
After being told by a AT&T Rep. that I had all along Worldwide Calling on my ServicePlan, 5$ per Month +8.9 Cents per Minute(I did not take his Name & Badge No. {big Mistake}
I left for Germany for 3 Weeks,my Husband called me, and of course I made all my Hotel-Arrangements for Germany Hotels&Car Rentals on this Plan.
When I came home, the AT&T Bill came they charged me for 82 Minutes, $3.60 per Minute. Now I found out the AT&T Rep made a Mistake, I never had sign up for that Plan!!
In April,when I was asked about the Plan, I did not take it, because I had a MCI Calling Card" I was using, when I used all the Minutes up with MCI I, called right away and ordered the Plan, that s when I was told I had the Plan!
I feel, this is not my Mistake, I call Germany alot, for40 years, always looking for a lower Price per Minute.
Now I am spending Hours on the Phone, only to get rude Reps. who cant help.
I asked one AT&T Person, what would you do in my Place, when you really know in your Heart, you are honest, you remember what the Rep. told you, the Answer was I would just pay it!!!
I am not giving up I am calling, waiting it seemed for ever... until I got someone to talk to, who again would transfer me to someone else, and on and on it went, I spend 2 hours in the morning to try to solves this problem. In the evening I tried again. They are going to investigate it and someone will call me in the Morning. Nobody called!!!
Now it is 2 Weeks later I called again, they told me just pay a certain amount, excluding the amount
I am disputing. I called yesterday, now I am told I am liable for the whole amount around $450.00 I asked, if I could talk to the Person who decided this. The answer is no!
I asked her please to listen to the recorded Conversation I had with the Rep.from your Office, it is maybe recorded, what he told me, so far no Luck! But I have been told, they will put it in Collection & cut off my Service!
I have always lived my Life honest, but this has really damaged my soul.

This is really crappy service!
One of the things that is really annoying about AT&T a.k.a SBC a.k.a Pacific Bell etc... is that now when you bring up their web based email you have to sort though adds all over the screen. I could expect this from a free service like google but on that I am paying for and I still am forced to sort though adds. This is really crappy service.

Continuous harassing phone calls
My phone bill was sent to this collection agency about a month ago. Since then, representatives from ER Solutions have been making phone calls to my home asking me to pay this debt. I spoke with someone regarding this matter and informed them of my financial situation and that as soon as I'm capable of paying this bill, I will do it promptly. They continued to call at least once a day, sometimes twice leaving message after message. I spoke to another representative and he talked down to me, he was completely inappropriate and he never let me explain my case to him. The call eventually ended with him hanging up on me. The way they've been acting is unlawful. It's harassment and they know it. I've looked up pass complaints and harassment is a continuous problem with this company. Something needs to be done. Thank You!

No rebate received!
I ordered high speed internet through AOL and they informed me I would get a rebate for the modem. That was Prior to Dec 06. I never received modem so I called and then I received it, and then received another one. I returned the second one. I have had quite a time getting ATT to remove the charge for the second modem. Finally this month, June, they removed the charge. I have been waiting for the refund and called several times to the rebate center. I now have been told that it is on hold as I got a rebate on the ATT bill. THAT WAS JUST FOR THE SECOND MODEM.

Switching carriers problem!
On or about April 11, I contacted AT&T long distance with a question about my bill, at which time their representative encouraged me to switch my local phone service to AT&T as well. He stated that the cost would be less than $25 per month and no mention was made of any other charges. Shortly thereafter I received a bill in the amount of $142.52, a far cry from what I was expecting. Included in this bill was a charge listed as “Service Order Charge – Installation” $65. SURPRISE!! Nobody mentioned this charge to me nor did I ever agree to same. I promptly canceled both phone services with AT&T on May 10, effective May 11, at which time I made it clear that I would not be paying the surprise $65 fee and that they should play the tape to determine that I had not, in fact, been informed of this installation charge. Had their representative advised me of this fee, as required by law, I would have declined to switch carriers and left my phone service as it was. Obviously they chose not to play the tape of the conversation in question and a demand is still being made for their surprise fee. I didn’t agree to it and I will not pay for it, since it represents almost as much as my weekly grocery bill and as a senior citizen, I would never have knowingly chosen between eating and switching telephone carriers. They continue to demand payment, using the statement that this is a mandatory charge. What? Isn’t it also mandatory to advise the consumer that there will be such a charge? They are threatening to compromise my credit rating unless I pay and I cannot and will not pay for something to which I did not agree. There must be a law against this type of predatory charging/billing as well as AT&T’s bullying collection tactics. I have requested an itemized bill for the remaining charges for which they say I am liable. I will pay what I legitimately owe but that is all! I have also requested a copy of the tape of my conversation with their representative, which proves that I was not advised of their $65 fee. They have denied both requests. I have a right to both an itemized bill and proof that I was told of their outrageous installation fee. AT&T does not agree, at least not according to their third-world country representatives.

Too big for their britches!
I have a complaint about the customer service part of this company. I have been a loyal bill paying customer for several years I have no real complaint about the service of the phone however the company seems not to take "care" of the consumer. first the service reps for the most part have a poor attitude towards the persons paying their wages (the consumer). I have never seen such disrespect and arrogance by the associates when dealing with a customer. I had a phone stolen from my sons car about a month after we purchased it. I called and had the service out on hold as not to run up a bill for misuse all was well until I contacted them to purchase a replacement phone, at that point they refused to give any type of refurbished allowance no discount what so ever, bear in mind this was 1 month after adding a line and getting a 2 yr contract renewed , I called again the rep said we can give you a refurbished phone no problem- i then spoke w/son and chose a phone when I called back NO DEAL must buy a phone at full price, then i find out they added a hidden road side towing plan 10.00 each phone per month without my permission and did not put insurance at 4.95 per month on my bill.
My last call was tonight 5/24/07 8:59 with Ashley who acted like I was caught with my hand in her purse when I asked what I would need to do to activate a phone we were thinking of buying from ebay as I have been paying the second line fee for 3 mos without having a phone... She was rude and mean.. What does a consumer have to do to get respect from someone your paying 130.00 a month to ??? I am a very rational and soft spoken person who does not lose my temper so there was not a issue with me being unreasonable. Then try and send a cx complaint by e mail.. Thats the kicker the system shuts down with no options for pre selected mandatory selections so the e mails cant be sent.. No one can give you a complaint e mail just a po box... I feel like I am in a really dark corner as it is 175.00 each line to get out of my contract. My brother has had alltel for 8 or 9 mos he dropped his phone in water that company happily replaced it for 50.00 and overnighted it at no charge... Think first before committing to Cingular one (the new at&t) they really are too big for their britches!
