I originally got a mortgage through charter bank under the hero program and a few months later I found out that they sold my mortgage to bank of albuquerque which is located in tulsa oklahoma. I made my payments every month even when the transition occurred and after the second or third payment I was informed that a 30 day late payment had been reported to the credit bureaus and a late fee assessed because my payment had been received after the last day of the month. I was also told that they don't look at the postmark to see if I had sent it with ample time for it to arrive in the mail. I live in Southeastern New Mexico and have consistently mailed my payments five sometimes six days ahead of the last day of the month. I have seen this trend with other mortgage companies and I feel like I am being extorted. If this has happened to anyone else with this business, also known as bank of oklahoma, or know if there is someone I can contact to try and reverse the damage done by these extortionists my email is [email protected].
