I have an American Museum of Natural History AMEX CC from Bank of America for as long as I can remember. Each month I went online to check account balance and make payment is any is due. I have never been late or missed any payment, ever. There has not been any recent change in my credit situation. Yesterday when I signed on to check my balance I found the account gone. I sent an email to inquire and was told to call one 800 # which in turn told me to call another 800 #. After the run around I finally got a recording saying that the account was closed with no further information. The last time I checked online was about 4 weeks ago for my Sept balance, and it was fine then. There was no notice whatsoever that my account would be closed, let alone any explanation. Lucky I did not use that card during the period and be embarrased with my charge declined. This is utterly unacceptable business practice.
