Home loan
I used to work for Bank of America and as an employee they offered a benefit where if you used them to finance your home they would give you a $5000 loan and all you were required to do was pay the interest on it for the duration of the loan. I knew that would change when I decided to leave the company, and was prepared to pay back the remainder of the loan along with a reasonable interest rate...What I was not prepared for was to have my interest rate raised to 15.5%. Both my wife and I are on the loan and both of us have credit ratings over 750. I am not sure how two co-borrowers with such excellent credit ratings could get stuck with a 15.5% interest rate, and I would like to file a complaint

fraudulent charges
In 2008, Bank of America opened a credit card account linked to the debtor's checking account without permission of the debtor or knowledge of the debtor. For over a year Bank of America racked up bank fees without notifying the debtor of the existence of the credit card account. Bank of America posted all sorts of bank fees (late fees, maintenance fees, etc.) to this credit card account for over a year without ever notifying the debtor by mail or phone that the credit card account existed. The debtor received all types of other mailings from Bank of America but never anything regarding a credit card. Debtor was completely unaware of the credit card account, never got a credit card, never activated or used a credit card and the only charges on the account were generated by Bank of America. Account went to Collection in 2009 and debtor received a letter out of the blue that his credit card account with Bank of America was delinquent over $400.00. Debtor had to pay to settle and his credit score is now seriously negatively impacted. Bank of America made it impossible to deal with it via phone and the local branch was useless also. Debtor has since closed his accounts with Bank of America. He was clearly unfairly and deceptively used by Bank of America for its own financial gain. This is larceny and Bank of America should be held accountable as would any other thief robbing people of their money.

NSF charges for Pending Transactions
I contacted Bank of America by phone today to find out why they had charged me (4) 35.00 overdraft fees. I show that my account was still had 8.00 in it when they began charging me these fees. Granted I have been with Bank of America for over 7 year and they have never done this type of thing before. I contacted the 18004321000 and spoke with Ishamela who was very nice but proceeded to tell me that three of the overdraft fees that they charged were for a pending transaction of 28.00 that did not clear until 8/3/09. They processed the fees on 7/31/09. Keep in mind, I receive my direct deposit 8/1/09 from the State of Texas - actually BOA receives my direct deposit on 7/30 but they hold it until 8/1/09. She stated they do that for pending transactions now. If this is policy for BOA, WHY ARE THEIR CUSTOMERS NOT INFORMED OF THIS INFORMATION. How can they change policy about MY funds and MY account without informing THEIR "valued" customer of the changes? I told her that they are stealing money from their customers when they do that. How are you going to charge a fee for a transaction that is pending and has not yet been cleared thru the bank?? She stated there was nothing she could do about it. I then went online and talked to an online rep. I do not remember his name but the supervisor stated his name was Sam. He then told me that this is their practice and they will not do anything about it. When I asked for a corporate number he stated they don’t have a number just an address. This is ridiculous. I am being penalized for pending transactions. They took a total of 140.00 from my account and 135.00 of that was for a transaction that had not even cleared the bank. I have never been treated like this before. They didn’t even try to satisfy a "valued" customer as they stated when they pull up my information on both the phone and the internet. They just stated what they were not going to do and moved on from that point. All of this took place 8/6/09. I tried to contact them 8/1/09 and the line was so busy I couldn’t get thru. I work 8-5 with the state. It is difficult to find time to do what needs to be done. I am outraged that banks are pleading with the government for funds and ripping off the people who trust them to take care of their money. I will be sending this information to every possible consumer and agency to try to get this resolved. It is obvious that Bank of America doesn’t care. I pray that you all do. Thank you.

Reduced Credit Line without notice
On 8/11, I called BoA customer service in an find out why I received a letter stating my credit line was was being reduced from $3000 to $1000 on one of my three accounts.
Since I was frustrated by the attitude of the "account manager" I decided to just close the account and be done with it.
I figured I would just payoff the $800 balance when I got the bill.
Yesterday, 8/16, my wife's card was denied when she tried to purchase $30 in groceries with a second BoA card.
The card had a $2K limit and the I had the last bill with about $1000 balance on the account.
Another call to cust. serv. and found out that there was only $1060 on the account, but the credit line had been reduced on the 11th of August without any notice.
I pay off these cards on time & almost every month.
To my knowledge, I have no other problems with my Amex, Discover, Chase Bank credit card accounts.
When I checked the bill from then third account, I saw that the credit line was reduced, too.
I just got the bill today.
Someone should be taking back that bailout cash from these guys.

Terrible bank
Supervisor: Neftali, said he would refund me $70 dollars to my personal account. He said his name was Gabe and unit number: 11712. He lied about everything. BofA will not give me his last name and unit number.
BofA is now not siding on my case of the refund.
What does an individual consumer like myself suppose to do with employees who aren't professional and in fact are negligent and deceitful?

Credit Card limit halved
Looking for Class Action Suit to join - or start.
BofA cut my credit line in half - for no reason, no late payments - always paid 2x minimum. The next part you know, hours on the phone, AND people in India wanting to sell me credit protection for $10/month !! waste of time on email - no one cares, no one can tell you why etc. etc.
My credit then shows 98% of limit on this card, and the ding on my credit report alerts other cards. Wamu/Chase then closes a card because of the BofA thing. Again, 40% of limit on the card, no late payments - card closed for no reason, no notification - another ding on credit - and before you know it, because of no fault of your own - your credit is in the crapper.
There is a class action suit forming for Wamu based on inquiries mad on this site - so let's go get BofA. By reading the posts here it seems that there is a way for individuals to STOP BEING VICTIMS. Please post if you are aware of any suits to join for BofA.
Thanks

Refinance Home Loan
Jack A Melton
Subject: Home Loan Refinance
April, 2009:
Applied for home loan refinance through Countrywide
Faxed all required paperwork
Paid $400.00 Lock-In Fee
Received, completed and returned all "Lock-In Agreement" documentation
May 14, 2009
Pre request from Bank of America Rep refaxed financial documents
June 17, 2009
Pre request from Bank of America Rep refaxed financial documents
August 12, 2009
Informed had new Loan Rep
She requested I refax financial documents
Issues:
Since May 2009 Bank of America has held $400.00 of my money for which I have received no return.
I have spent almost $50.00 in fax fees sending documents.
With good credit and no late house payments it has been over four months since I first applied to refinance.
I am now being requested to refax documents I have faxed three times in the past four months.
Refaxing documents will cost me another $15.00
Conclusion:
After $25B+ in TARP money, Bank of America still cannot complete a simple refinance request.
I can only conclude Bank of America is incompetent.
I have no desire to have my home loan with an incompetent corporation.
Bank of American has basically ripped me off of $450.00.
I will refinance. But be assured I will not refinance, or have any further financial dealings, with Bank of America.
Regards:
Jack Melton

hold time
I've been banking with bank of america for 4 years now, and in the last year my reward for being a loyal customer has been to wait for 45 minutes to 1hour 15 minutes the last 6 times i've called. What bothers me the most is that the estimated wait time was 4 minutes every time. So now with bills backed up, my banking problem still unresolved, and no one at the banking centers around here to help me because they all told me to call, I also have to go and ask for money on the streets after i get out of work just to pay this phone bill. I almost have enough now on my fourth day walking around with a cup, but I think I would at least deserve an apology.

Greedy Policies
I had a credit card that was bought by Bank of America (BAC). The card had a 7.8% fixed interest, and I'd had this card for over a dozen years. I have an excellent credit rating and have never missed a payment. In June '09 they raised my interest rate to 12.99%, retroactively - which included my $11, 000 debt, not just future purchases. When I called and said I wanted my old rate reinstated, they told me it was an across the board increase. I was so pissed that I refinanced my house (the 15 yr Country-wide mortgage had also been bought by BAC - and I figured if they could do it to my credit card they could figure out a way to do it to my mortgage). The 10 yr re-fi was at a lower rate and included $11, 000 to pay off the credit card. I'm now paying $2 less each month on my mortgage, will pay it off sooner, have no credit card debt, and BAC lost two excellent credit risks (albiet very small).
They screwed themselves when they got greedy, helping to cause the current financial crises, and expect their customers to help pay for their mistakes. Not me. My new credit card is from my local credit union. I wish everyone could do something similar.
