I haven't shopped at a Best Buy store in almost three years. I stopped shopping at their stores when they lost a six week old laptop I took in for repairs under the purchased extended warranty. The lost laptop cost $1400.00. They would only replace it with a new laptop valued at $1000.00 because I had used the lost laptop for six weeks making it a used laptop. In their opinion, when they lost the six week old laptop, they also lost the extended $300.00 warranty that covered it. I had to purchase a new warranty for the replacement laptop. I also had to repurchase most of the new software that was lost with the six week old laptop which the Geek Squad had installed. In other words, I had to spend close to $800.00 to get a replacement laptop for the laptop they lost. I then had some problems with the replacement laptop which they would not address under the extended warranty. I finally bought a decent laptop at Walmart which has served me well for almost three years.

I don't usually complain. I typically vote with my feet and don't return to stores where it is considered good business practice to rip off the consumer.

I really got ticked off tonight when I received an automated sales call from Best Buy on my cell phone even though my phone number is listed on the government no call list. I don't want to ever see the inside of a Best Buy Store in my lifetime and I want no communication from them under any circumstance. I will leave them alone if they will leave me alone.
