I parked in the lot by my school, University of Houston-Downtown, with a valid surface lot parking permit. There were many other vehicles with similar plaques on the rearview mirror, however, my car got booted. After waiting forty minutes in the heat, a man from Boot Man Inc showed up in an unmarked vehicle and told me that I had to pay 113.00 dollars if I wanted to drive my car off the lot. He was extremely rude and the company was of no help as far as complaints. When I questioned why I was booted he stated I did not have an "LAZ Parking" tag and that the lot I was in was private. However, there are two big signs on the lot that say, "Student Parking" (with arrows pointed at the lot I was in), and "LAZ Public Parking" (with no mention of a requirement to solely have an LAZ tag in order to park in that lot. This company booted five other cars besides myself and I have heard they boot people as a scam to get them to pay. This is completely unacceptable and I want my money back, since my time obviously won't be compensated for!
