We are a broker that submitted a loan to this company for a Goldmine project. Tom Mackenzie offered terms that were too good to be true; 9% - 10 yr due in 5 with no points. He then gave us an engagement letter and requested due-diligence money. Once I got the package I searched the internet for complaints. I saw a plethora of complaints about him and then asked him if I could get a few references. He then immediately canceled the loan. We are one of the lucky ones but many people haven't been so lucky crossing his path. Many people were swindled by him and his daughter Michalea Barrett. He also goes by Mac Mackenzie. I see that he's changed companies often. I guess the next step for him and his daughter is to change their names.
