Fraud service
I received a notice to renew my business name for a fee of $100 in July 2010. The check was cashed but then I receive another notice again in September for $100 fee to renew. Then on December I received another notice from the same company this time, it says to update my business info and no payment necessary. Since I've already paid so I filled out the form and send it in. Now it's January, I checked the public record and they have not updated my record. It's now expired. I could have gone directly to the recording office pay only $38.

Failure to provide service
Please beware of this company. I received a notice in the mail to renew my fictitious business name. I sent the renewal notice back with $100. About a month and a half later, I received another notice on the same thing. When I called about the second notice, they told me that they did not send the first notice which was from a company that was supposed to handle the renewal part for me. The California Renewal Center cashed my check on July 20th, 2010 and when I talked to the real fictitious business name renewal center, they still did not have the renewal or money as of September 7th. Every time I've called the California Renewal Center, I get voicemail. Despite leaving 3 messages, I have not heard back from them. Now I will be out another $100 because I still have to pay to renew my fictitious business name. Please do not fall into this trap.
