Late fees and call staff
Cannot believe the level of incompetence at Care Credit. The call staff are beyond rude, I even had one 'lady' yell at me and slam the phone down. The customer service is non existent and the staff are absolute morons.
I've had the account with them for almost 2 years, have never missed or been late with a payment. Last month I scheduled my payment online and received a confirmation email that it had been proccessed. When I checked my bank account 5 days later I saw that the payment had not yet posted. I checked the care credit website which told me that the payment had been declined. I contacted my bank, no billing request had ever been sent from care credit. I called care credit and was told yes it was in fact their mistake, that they had been having technical issues, and that any late fee would be waived.
A week late I checked to make sure no fee had been imposed, yet, there it was, a $39.99 late fee. I called again was told again that it was a mistake and would be taken off my account. Today I went online to schedule next months payment and lo and behold my minimum payment is STILL $39.99 more than it should be. I called again. This time I am told that the late fee has been refunded but, as the charge had already been assessed, I STILL HAVE TO PAY IT, and the 'extra' $40 will be applied to my balance. 'Why?' I asked, 'Just because' was basically the answer I got.
I spoke to 3 different people, all complete idiots. They were extremely rude, and refused to actually enter into a conversation, just kept repeating the same thing over and over like robots. Cannot express how mad I am. This was their mistake, and they are penalizing ME for it. How is this even legal? Surely paying additional principal is up to my discretion. How can they force me to pay a fee WHICH THEY HAVE ALREADY REFUNDED?????

over charging me/refusing to allow me to speak to supervisor
I have been charged 9 late fees at 30, yes 30% interest because I paid too EARLY!!! Due to hoilidays or other circumstances and because I use the bill pay service thru my bank, my bills are sometimes sent a little early. If they receive it prior to the cycle it is applied to the same month essentially paying a double payment but showing no payment for the month intended. A supervisor by the name of Carmita (spell) Did not tell me how many times I was late or that I owed 400.00 in late fees. She told me she would tell me one more time that I owe late fees and then would disconnect. It was after she hung up on me that I called back, talked to Kevin and he explained how much I owe, why I owe it and how much int. I am paying. He wasn't able to fix it but transfered me to the same woman who again hung up on me after refusing to let me speak to anyone else or advising me as to how I can reach her supervisor. My account shows that I am a terrible customer while in truth I pay on time. This is extortion!! No one will provide a number for a human who has the authority to help me and they are now charging me another 385.00 for being late when my july pymnt not due for another 19 days. The most recent supervisor I spoke to (Dawn) said that regardless of why they are charging me this, I still must pay this amount.
She continued with as a courtesy she would remove $100 from late fees but still charge me 300 plus the 30%. I wanted to say... So would it be a "courtesy" if I steal your purse but tell you that as a courtesy I will let you keep one of your credit cards but Im using the rest of them.??
I'm frustrated that they called it a courtesy to wave 3 late fees but still charging me 30% on other fees even though it was understood by two other call center persons that I do not owe this money!!!
