Need help? Here it is - finally!
Same trouble as all you other people. Unauthorized charges, difficulty canceling the membership; but I found the answer. I located a toll-free number to the company through my credit card customer service center. They gave #877-481-6825. I called and spoke with a freecreditreport.com representative.

Although they tried everything to keep me on the service, I finally reached the end and got a cancellation confirmation number, the rep's name, and a confirmation email. Seems to have worked for me. I hope this helps other victims from the alleged "fine print" they claim to have included in the original sign-up for this useless and unauthorized service.

Stop these fraudelent charges NOW!
If you are like me and being billed $12.95 each month from CIC Triple Advantage and have no idea why, call 877-481-6825 and press option 1 to cancel "membership". Tell them that you want your "membership" canceled IMMEDIATELY and do not let them try to convince you otherwise. The representative tried to tell me that I had signed up for this service and I explained that I had actually attempted to access a FREE service and now they are not only scamming me, but hundreds of other unassuming consumers as well. After that, she apologized and immediately processed my cancellation. How frustrating! Fortunately I caught it after only the second $12.95 charge on my card. GOOD LUCK!

Fraudulent charges
I paid to see my credit report on FreeCreditReport.com and was subsequently charged $12.95 by CIC Triple Advantage. I called 1-800-388-8725 and canceled my "membership" and will be hopefully refunded $12.95. I then called FreeCreditReport.com to ask them why they were running a fraudulent online scam and they told me that everything was in the "terms and conditions" of purchasing my credit report. However, the email I received when my credit report was ready from FreeCreditReport.com asked me to sign up for the service- which I NEVER did. This inconsistent and sneaky business practice has to stop!

Bogus charges
Do not use this company! It is a bogus system to charge you every month for a service they don't offer. They have been charging me for months and I still have to pay for my credit report. I have called twice to cancel and just remain on hold with no answer. It is a SCAM!

Difficult to cancel membership / Instructions on how to cancel!
After signing up and viewing my report, I immediately went to cancel my membership in TripleAdvantage. I called the customer service line to cancel, when they gave me the options, option 1 was to cancel. EVERY TIME I CALLED THIS NUMBER AND HIT '1' TO CANCEL, I WAS AUTOMATICALLY DISCONNECTED.

Canceling this service is a bit of a task.

While signing up, if you read the terms and conditions, it says you have 30 days to cancel membership in TripleAdvantage before they begin charging you $12.95 per month for the service. So, like many other people I thought "I'll just sign up, print my report and cancel to avoid the charge.".

TO CANCEL

Call Customer Service at 1-877-481-6826. It's a toll free number. After a short introduction, you are given the options. 1 is to cancel, 2 is to troubleshoot the website, 3 is for 'more questions'.

Press 1, It's possible that my experience with this hotline is unique, but every time I called this number and pressed 1, I was disconnected. I tried it from multiple phones. If you are disconnected, call the number again...

Press 3 for 'all other questions'

You are given more options, option 1 is to dispute inaccurate information on your report, option 3 is for 'all other questions'

Press 3.

I was on hold for about 15 minutes before someone picked up. Not a bad wait time really. I called mid-afternoon on a Monday. When the representative picks up, tell them you would like to cancel membership but are disconnected every time you call and press 1.

She didn't seem too surprised when i said that, leads me to believe the line is engineered to do that. If it is, that's really shady. But she was nice and, after a few security questions my membership was canceled.

Money has been deducted from my checking account without any authorization
CIC Triple Advantage is billing my account. I believe they received my account information fraudulently. I will advise my bank, as soon as they open, to never pay this again. I never authorized this, didn't ask for it and do not want it. I just realized this from my current bank statement and looked back at the past 2 months and realized they had been doing this for 3 months.

Mislead & unauthorized charges
On April 7, 2007 I received my free annual credit report from Experian and was subsequently charged $12.95 on May 7, 2007 for a service I did not request. I realize now that I logged onto freecreditreport.com instead of annualcreditreport.com and that was a mistake. However, in reviewing all the information I received for that service, there is no statement that I would be charged monthly for a continued service. I'm not a happy customer, but I've learned my lesson.

Unauthorized charges for smth. I don't need!
I am an 83 year old man and am being unnecessarily charged $12 a month by CIC for a credit report that indicated to me that it was free and I really don't need, anyway.

Money taken without authorization
CIC Triple credit advantage is taking money off my account without my authorization. I did not even signed up for this. They took 2 $12.95 on my account and since i don't have money in there already the bank charges me 2 $35.00 overdraft fee.

Never signed up for any credit check!
I don't ever remember signing up for any type of credit check for this company, especially not a monthly recurring charge . I don't even know how to access the information i am getting charged for. I have talked to my credit card co. But i am suppose to try to resolve this matter with cic first. It's impossible to reach them at the 877-48-6825 # . Gee i wonder why their line is constantly busy...
