Correctional Billing Services (CBS) is a monopoly company (when trying to contact a loved one in jail). They are dedicated to making attempts to contact loved ones a frustrating and expensive experience. They say they offer customer service, but they don't provide it. The bottom line is that you MUST use their service IF you need to speak via telephone with your loved one. It will cost you well over $1.00 per minute to talk to them. You may not be able to talk to your loved ones as CBS can (an does) electronically block the inmates attempts to call. When asked about these 'blocks' they will give you several different answers, but it may take days to correct a one minute problem. They simply don't care about your situation and stonewall you at every turn. This is not an isolated experience, it is their corporate culture. You will have a bad experience, and if you try to use a less expensive company like ConsCallHome.com (that provides local phone numbers that only cost 85 cents per call total), CBS will not connect that number, or they'll block that number, or cut off the call after only a few seconds after connection. You will have a poor and very expensive experience with CBS ---- you just need to know beforehand how they operate. Good luck.
