I entered this program ove a year ago to try to get out from under some of our debt. My husband was about to have heart surgery and i had two surgeries during 2009 also. We have insurance, but we still didn't know how much we were going to have to pay out of pocket so I knew we would not be able to handle all of the bills. This was one of the reasons I did this, but the other was the amount of interest I was being charged. I was sending almost $300 a month on one account and they were taking $230 to $ 250 a month interest. The debt management company took around $5000 in fees from me and did not do anything to help. Now one of the accounts is in garnish ment. I don't know what is going to happen with that. I want to know if I can get some of the fee money back from them. That was enough to pay one of the debts off if they had done what they said.
