The direct TV logo burned the bottom right side of my 55” TV
On Monday March 07 2011 at 7:00 PM, I called Direct TV to complain about a black square “the size of Direct TV logo” on the bottom right side of the TV. The technical support guides me for troubleshooting to resolve the problem. She told me that she can’t help me and I need to call the TV manufacturer “VIZIO” maybe they can help otherwise I need to call back to issue a damage report. The VIZIO TV customer support told me that there is a picture stuck in that spot and cause to burn the TV ”Case #1530338”. I Called back Direct TV to Issue a damage report and she told me that she cant do that because it is not related to their equipment Which it was caused by their equipment. I requested to talk to her supervisor. After few minutes the supervisor talked to me her name is Denise, she was aggressive, doesn’t want to listen, and her respond was defensive without evaluating the problem. She was telling me that the equipment will not cause that problem therefore they would not compensate me for the damage caused by their logo. I tried to reason with her by telling her that the only equipment is connected to the TV is the DTV receiver. She still was saying that it is impossible that their equipment will cause the problem. I requested if a technician would come in and evaluate the situation maybe DTV equipment caused the problem. She did not agree. As a result I found that it is no use talking to someone that doesn’t want to listen to the customer complains.
I don’t Appreciate DTV treatment and not been responsible for their equipment. At least they should investigate the problem and if it was the reason for the damage to my TV then they should compensate for the damage instead of training their supervisors to defend their product without listening to the problem positively to improve their product.

Price Increase
I had an account with Direct TV for two years, during which time their service became increasingly worse. When my second year expired, I told their rep that I was switching over to either DISH or Verizon. The rep was crushed and offered me a "deal" - dangling a carrot to entice me to stay. Turns out the carrot wasn't worth much - mostly added programs I don't watch. "Cooking with Milton" and "Jack LaLane's Juicer" and another hundred of similar channel fillers. But my monthly payment remained the same. NOT FOR LONG. The first month I receieved an increase on (1) my package, and (2) my leased receivers. When I called DIRECT TV and asked if they knew about these forthcoming increased last month when they sold me the package at a discount, the rep (stationed in the Filipines, by the way) did her usual dance. "I don't know. Let me transfer you." Forget it. I'll pay your lousy increase, but I'm posting this complaint on the Internet and telling my friends that DIRECT TV has BS sales tactics.

Bad service, bad installatio
We signed up for Direct TV last Nov. The initial installation was done poorly. We got very bad signal, wrong platform for business usage.
After a few weeks 2 new installers showed up again without the right platform and left. In January finally we got a third installer who said we needed a signal booster installed it and left.
Last week, the signal booster got so hot that it melted the cable and our business smells like burnt tire and almost burned the place down.
Last Sunday finally a technician showed up and told us the cable was grounded the wrong way and it caused a built up of static electricity.
I called to complain about the service and demand a rebate of what we have been paying them up till now.
It is under consideration but no promise of refund, I said I want to cancel my contract if they do not grant a refund but that is not accepted either.
What kind of business is this? Promise of a good service but after 4 months all I got was that I should sign up for a SERVICE CONTRACT.
I say just stay away from them.
The technicians are all sub-contractors, do not get paid for fixing problems as much as installing them. So they will not fix other technicians mess.
The company gives you a different bill each month. Go with the cable companies, at least you can go to their local office.

Fraud
On February 23rd I recieved a letter stating that my directTV account was past due. Since I had canceled my account, after the full 24 months of service, and sent back the receivers that were required of me I called Direct TV and stated that I should NOT be billed for them. I was informed by their agent (Jeycee) that the receivers had arrived on February 9th and that I would not be billed for them. On February 24th I received an e-mail stating that my account was past due and that I would be charged for the equiptment I had already sent back. Again I called and was informed by their agent (Doris) that I would not be charged for the equiptment since it had arrived on February 9th.
On March 1st, 2011 my credit card was charged $319.96 for the receivers that they had already received via the USPS on February 9th, 2011. When I called again, to complain and refute the charges, I was lied to and told that the receivers hadn't arrived yet. I called their agent (Anne) a liar and told her that I intend to persue a class action lawsuit against Direct TV. She assured me that there had just been a mistake, and that I would be refunded the money they had charged to my credit card within 48-72 hours.
96 Hours later my credit card still has the charges against it and I am looking for the name of a corporate lawyer that might be interested in persuing a class action civil suit against Direct TV at this time.
If anyone knows of a lawyer, in Missouri, who might be interested in this case please have them contact me at the address and/or phone number listed above.

unsatisfactory service
we had direct tv as our satellite provider, sold our house and supposedly susspended our service for six months or so we thought. we were given the option to do so by direct tv because our account was paid in full. we took this option because we moved into an apartment building that didnt allow dishs on the side of the buliding or holes to be put into the structure either. we had full intentions on continuing our service as soon as we purchased another house. after two months of our supposed suspension of service we recived a phone call from our bank stating that direct tv was attempting to withdrawl over $900 from out checking account via our debit card. this amount was for a months unpaid service equipment fees and god only knows what else. thankfully our bank knows that direct tv are scamers, and they immediatly cancelled our debit card so that direct tv wouldnt have acces to the money in our account. since then we have recieved numerious harassing phone calls from them trying to collect this outstanding debt. i dont get how they expected us to know that they assumed we owed this to them when we had not been contacted by phone, mail or e mail in two months time. sorry for rambling but seriously direct tv is a huge joke from start to finish. i would not recommened them to anybody, not even people that i dont like very much. we now have comcast, awesome service, selection, and a great price oh yeah and did i mention no contract. i guess my first clue that direct tv sucked should have been that when they ask you to sign a two year contract thats them not having confidence in their product. i guess the moral of my very long complaint is DONT SIGN UP WITH DIRECT TV, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!!

unauthorized charge of credit card
BEWARE!!! My friend didnt have a credit card and asked me to pay her DIRECT TV bill and she would pay me cash. I selected the one time payment option. Months later her service was cancelled and she had an outstanding balance. Because they had my credit card info on file they charged my card without my consent. I am still fighting this but it didnt matter that my card was not even the name on the account they still said they had the right. If this isnt Fraud i dont know what is!!!

Service
I was promised a promotional rate of $29.99 a mos, when I signed up for the service. However, they never honored that rate, but charged me the going rate of $57 @ mos . Come to find out, if you are Mexican you get $12.95 rate per mos, so we Americans has to supsidise their rate, along with all other benefits they get, such as free schooling for their kids and free healthcare.
I am trying to get hold of the CEO, but of cause he is not available. They would not give me his address or phone number.

Billing
I would not advise anyone to join Direct Tv. They deducted $$119.85 from my credit card with out even a bill. I cancelled my service with them sent them back all of there equipment and still they claim that I owe them money. I called and stated that why did they deduct a payment and they said that there was paypreview from back dated to 2006-2007 I tried to tell them they need to send me a bill so that I can confirm that the charges were mine as I did not even have a receiver at the time they were charging all they said oh sorry must have been from previous user. The customer service is very bad. I will never go back to direct Tv they are dishonest. I never was late once with my payment and I was a customer for 10 years and this is how they treat me.

cancellation scam
In Nov of 09 I called to cancel my service, ( been a customer for 2 years). They offered me a new HD box and free hbo/shotime for 6 months and a cheaper plan to stay. I agreed, what they didnt tell me was It meant I had agreed to another 2 year contract, how could I agree if they didnt tell me? well theie supervisor claimed by accepting the upgrade constituded agreement. This is a total scam so beware. I am battling with them over 187.00 early termination fee after being with them for 3.5 years. They also claimed they sent an email and a letter stating the agreement. I do remeber getting the standard agreement they send every year, I guess If i read it it means I agree? no where in any letter did it say by accepting this offer you committ to a 2 year contract. I am thinking class action lawsuit..anyone in?

RIP OFF!!!
So we got Direct TV in November. In march the service goes out completely. They tell us that we have to pay $6.00 every month if we want someone to come fix it on top of the bill we are paying every month for the service. Since the 90 day protection plan ran out. First of all, we were never told about the 90 day plan to begin with since our installer could barely speak english. They said it was our fault that the satellite wasn't receiving a signal!! I don't understand how it was our fault? Then the costumer service rep tells us she doesn't even have Direct TV service herself! She has Cox communications! We ask her how much it would cost to cancel our service she says $400!! They wanted us to pay $400 to cancel a service they were not providing in the first place! And they say they have 6000 channels but 90% of their channels are channels dedicated entirely to playing infomercials!!! This business is a rip off.
