Customer Service?
I currenly have Dish Network as part of a bundle with AT&T -- their online chat is worthless - all they do is end up referring you to call them (why even have online chat customer service then!) -- They do NOT respond to e-mail requests in a timely manner -- When you do call them, it takes them forever to answer the phone, they end up transferring you all over the place - when you have a bundled account you cannot access your programming etc. online to order pay-per-view - they get bitchy when you don't have a phone line connected to the receiver (my phone line to where the receiver is located died and is very expensive to repair) They jut don't listen! They claim to have superior customer service - according to whom? I filed a complaint with the BBB (noticed they have several thousand complaints with only a fraction resolved) I just want them out of my house! They prey on people who live in areas that don't have decent cable TV. Had dish in the past, switched to Direct TV (a bit better in my opinion) -- someone just needs to teach these people what customer service is, and they really should give their subscribers the same options regardless of how they are billed! WAKE UP DISH NETWORK --THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!

being scammed
i told rep, i did not want a 2 year contract, so they hooked dish and box, and told me i had to sign paperwork to verify, they hooked it up, but come to find out they said, i sign contract, ---they fooled people need to read fine print????i called office, the man was rude, also was told that, i could not talk to his supervisor, , , so i call main office, and talked to monica, she said that i could not talk to her boss, because he does not take phone calls, so i asked if i could get copy of contract, she said it would take 10 to 15 days, but by that time your long over due on your bill, , , so they got me over a barrel, the only thing left to do is take them to court, , , , , , , , , , , HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THEY DONE THIS TO...???????????

no service, I still pay
I recently moved 4 blocks before the completion of a 24 month contract. Dish Network is unable to provide me with service. According to the Tech that they sent to move my service, he was unable to aim the dish at the only available sattelite. Dish Network is telling me that I am still required to pay them per my contract. They have stated that they are not required to provide service. My other option is to cancel my contract and pay them a heftly cancellation fee.

Liars and cheaters
I cancelled my Dish Network service in July 2006. I sent back the receivers in the box provided for me. Today, I found out (a year later), they charged me for them. When I had first received the notice last year, I just assumed they had not processed the receivers. However, today I found out they had received one of the two receivers in the same box and had charged me for the second one. After an hour of talking to different departments, I found myself being told that they would try to resolve this issue to my satisfaction within the week. The only way it will be solved is if they miraculously discover the other receiver and remove that huge charge off of my credit. I don't know why it will take a week to find it when they haven't been able to find it for a year.

Worst company ever
Dish Network is the pits!!! I was a sub-contractor install tech for these guys and I have been a electronic tech for 25 years (not to brag but if it has wires I'm good at fixin it). On several instances I have called Dealer tech support for assistance and was told " ...we don't know why it is doing that" on problems on new systems. Also there are 2 different models of receivers that have several problems that cause poor reception; one is the 625 dual tuner DVR and the 511 series HD dual tuner DVR both have problems that Dish sez they won't RA the equipment, so the customer is stuck with a monthly charge and piss poor reception.

Liar
I was an employee for Dish Network selling these Satelites door to door during the summer of 2002 In a town of Dubois Idaho I had 5 Sales and 4 of them backed out because My boss promised me that he would set up appointments for installers to come and he kept putting it off.
If someone backed out of a contract they would charge me the commission that I made plus an addintional service fee and the same amount plus the cost of the equipment not returned by my customers. I ended up losing money because of gas and cell phone about cell phones don't get sprint they have really poor coverage.

Stay away
I was using their service for few years, and when I decide to cancel my service I realize I am dealing with bunch of liars and thieves. I called and they said and confirm that my service it’s been canceled, even they gave me a confirmation number. After three months, I realize that they still charging my credit card, when I call them they said no I never cancel my service, I said I have confirmation number for it, LOL they said confirmation number is meaning less (what a joke). So basically all of sadden I was the layer. Just word of advice stay away from them.

Billing Access to On Line
11/28/09: Dish Network offers on line service for payment of bills and other options. There web site is a joke with contiuned message of web site having difficulties try again. This from a company that puts satilites up but can't maintain a reliable web site.
Payment information is submitted and then a message is displayed regarding site diffciulties. 4 months in a row this has occurred, tried paying by phone twice and the screwed the banking infomation so my bank rejected payment, then the hit me with late charges. I would not recommend Dish to anyine, and would urge those currently enroledd to cancel and look to other options. THere are far too many other complaints available on the web. They don't deserve your money.
Contacting customer service is worse than having a "root canal"
It appears Dish is under the direction of "Laurel and Hardy" and that is giving them a break.

Terrible everything
Part a) A Dish Network (partner) salesman comes to my house and lies my wifes face. Tells her "Dish network has purchased DirectTV and you might as well change now or you'll be forced to in a few months." DirectTV is a service we had been very pleased with for several years.
Part b) Having been coerced and signing a contract under false pretenses they install some dvr's. I come home and nothing is working right. I call DISH customer service and after an hour they determine we were given the wrong equipment.
Part c) Days later the equipment is replaced with two more dvr's.
Part d) A few months later both dvrs' are rebooting at random times daily. We have to turn them off to sleep. Then, to watch tv we have to turn them on and wait ten minutes.
The final straw) I cancel the service because I'm fed up. They still insist upon charging me $240 for the cancellation of contract. The 'customer loyalty representive' I was eventually transferred to says 'I understand that you've had a terrible experience and that you feel the contract was signed under false pretenses, but the charge is "automatic"'.

Poor customer service/Poor programing
Tonigh I tried to view channel 152 to see the local college football. My satellite box tried some 10+ times to dial your service, but each time the box received "busy"
Next, I tried caling dish network... the first attempt was disconnected, the second routed to a "college package deal" which I did not want!
Next, I retried calling and got through to one of you operators... she told me I had to "buy a package" I told her to connect me to a supervisor as this was unacceptabel!
Your supervisor tild me that I could get the channel wanted (152) by downgrading... uinfortunately that would mean losing some channels we watch.
Why is this so? It is certainly not a technical issue, of that I am certain!
Nest, I tried to log-on online... it took me 10 atempts... with the stupid web site asking questions I had already answered!
This has got to be the worst service I have ever encountered! You can bet that I will be looking at alternative services (Time Warner Cable will allow me to order this channel individually.! why not Dish?)
I do not care about any cancellation charges... you can bet that I will cancel my Dish Network Service as sson as I have Time Warner, AT&T (Uverse) or Verizon (FIOS) installed...
You service is the worst I have encountered, and I regret the day I selected Dish Network!
