Firestone Reviews

They are snakes looking for alot of money from innocent, yet naive victims
Ok, I wanna start this review by saying that Firestone is a rip off. Ok, I'll admit I bought the crappiest car on the face of the earth, a 2001 Saturn Coupe..piece of junk!! Ive had to go in there at least 10 times for the same car. I know for a fact, I spent more on repairs than the actual car itself. They were the closet mechanics around when I needed car repairs and I did trust them. I go in there needing an oil change which is what $15-30? I walk out of there spending over $300.00. At this point the car doesnt run or start period, they know I dont know much about car repairs, they know thats the only car I have available to my mom and me. They use that fact that I know little about cars against me, the guy also used scare tactics if I didnt pay for all the parts the car needed which cost over $800.00. He told me that my right tire would completely fall off at any given time, it never did. They are snakes looking for alot of money from innocent, yet naive victims like me. There are much more honest, affordable, straightforward, mechanics out there. Firestone is not one of them.

They take advantage of girls who look like they are not sure about cars
I got a flat when I was driving to work and I went to Firestone because they had 2 of my tires in stock. I was planning on getting 4 but they said they can put in an order for me. While they were working on my car, they told me that 1 of my back struts was leaking. Mind you I have a 2007 car and there is no reason for it to be leaking. They said they needed to special order it and that I would have to pay for it in advance. I agreeded not knowing any better. I got home and I explained how I had to pay almost $600 for my car and he said he would call and tell them to cancel it. When he called they told him that the part was ordered and paid for (with the money I had to prepay for the part). Then when they installed it, instead of taking 2 hours, it took 7. They also found that I needed an adjustment. Do not go to firestone! They take advantage of girls who look like they are not sure about cars. After they did my alignment my car is shaking and driving to the right. When I called to get them to fix it, I was left on hold for 10 minutes then hung up on and when I called back I was just told to bring it in and they would get to it when they could. As if the over 1000 that I spent there didn't matter. Very very unhappy.

Do not be fooled by Internet or other coupons from Firestone
Do not be fooled by Internet or other coupons from Firestone !! They get their money back in the end. I went online for a quote and a "coupon" for four new Destination tires. I was so excited to find a buy three get one free deal! The quote they gave was all four tires for $550.00, wat a deal!! Well once the tires were on my vehicle and it was time to pay, the final bill was $678.00!! Due to the "required" warranty that you have to purchase and other fees that they do not tell you about up front. SO, if you think you are getting a good deal from Firestone because you found a "coupon" do not be fooled, it is a rip off!!

Unneeded replacement parts
I brought my 2001 Nissan maxima into Firestone for an oil change and for them to see why my car was running rough. After my car was in the shop for almost 4 hours, they called and said I needed all new spark plugs( at 29.99 EACH), 6 ignition coils, and a mass air flow censor, totaling $1800 for parts and labor. I told them that I would like to take my car somewhere else for a second opinion. When I brought my car to another shop, the mechanic at this shop informed me that I just needed one ignition coil replaced for a total of $150 including labor. I had the other shop fix my car, and they informed me that Firestone had added 3.5 quarts more than needed into my car, he suspected that they didnt even drain the old oil, they just added more. I will never take my car to them even for a simple oil change, and anyone who reads this should do the same unless you feel like throwing all your money out the window.

Nothing, but problems
I went to Firestone to have a flat fixed from a nail in the tread of my tire. They told me that my car had been sitting on the flat for too long causing damage to the tire wall and would need to buy a whole new tire. I found this hard to believe as my car had only sat with the flat for about half a day. I took my car somewhere else for a second opinion and they fixed the flat no problem.

I will never go to Firestone again, that was a huge turn off for me
First time at Firestone . My godparents have a credit there. They wanted to give me birthday gift to get me new tires for my new car. Strike 1, there prices are way too expensive! I have one of the smallest tires. (93 toyota camry) Strike 2, horrible customer service no hi, hello, or be with you in a moment... Strike 3, they suck at time management they should'nt accept walk-ins if they have an attitude, and are rushung because they were closing in an hour. But i needed new tires to travel later that night. Strike 4, i drove to concord later that night, got to concord, as soon as i park my tire goes flat and is balled around my hub cap! This is the same tire i got done 4 hours ago that day! My godparents were pissed because I took a picture and showed them i could have got into a bad car accident that night! Strike 5, came to firestone with my car on a spare, showed them a picture they totally tried to ignore me and deny the situation! Finally they gave me a new tire for free with an attitude. I will never go to firestone again that was a huge turn off for me.

Champion HR = horrible tires
Mileage on my Prius has NEVER been below 50 MPG in 45, 000-plus miles of driving. Has nosedived to 43 MGP since having Firestone Champion HR tires installed. The "HR" must stand for "huge reduction" -- these are the WORST tires I have ever owned.

Lousy wet-road traction to boot. Stay away from these dogs...

overcharge
Shopping trip to Hagerstown interrupted by a split rear heating hose. Told the mechanic/rep at desk that it was a ruptured hose and where as I had looked under the Tracker/vehicle and saw the problem. Told there was no problem, was going to get it taken care of very quickly, next car in slots, and would have a writeup on it in a moment. "Just sign here so that we can have a look at it". Encyclopedia salesman move of holding down paper for me so that I could easily sign OK for them to work on it...to see my signature applied to a charge as part of my final bill of 19.95 for PRESSURE CHECK on a vehicle I had just told him had no fluid in it, and had a split in rear hose of which I specifically asked to be replaced. The speedy job I was promised, being next vehicle in line, with the rep knowing my sense of urgency being that I had 90 minutes to pick up my children from school 30 minutes away, turned into hearing, after 30 minutes of wait...that my part, a common hose, would arrive at the shop within about 30 minutes. To be brief; I ended up paying $90.91 for the $17+ hose and labor. Once the part got to the shop, it took the mechanic a little over 7 minutes to install the hose and fill my radiator/system with recycled ($10) fluid. An 1/8 hour of work resulted in $50. of charges.

Ultimately my children had to wait after school with their principal, and I learned another of lifes little lessons. Get a full quote first with a time guarantee and never at Firestones in Hagerstown.

Overcharge/not living up to warranty
On November 5, 2006 in “Good Faith” I purchased Fuzion HRI $64.99, 40, 000 miles limited warranty tires for my 2002 Chrysler Sebring LX from Firestone Complete Auto Care @ 4920 Washington Avenue in Racine, WI. Last Saturday October 24 my brother-in-law noticed that the tread on the front tires had worn down evenly a great deal and the back tires were also on that same route. I took my car to Firestone on October 25 to discuss the problem I was having. I’m not sure of the young associate’s name but I believe it was Joel. He was so rude, telling me it could possibly be a tire rod causing this. He scheduled an appointment for me on Wednesday, October 28, but I had to reschedule to Saturday, October 31.

My uncle and I took my car in and Doug Gardner was the technician on duty. I explained to him what my concern was and what my warranty stated. He took my car in and checked the alignment told me my alignment was off. My uncle told him this would not have made the car tires wear evenly if this was the problem. Mr. Gardner came back and told me he had “4” Fuzion tires in inventory the same as mine and he could put these on my car. I told him fine. He came back and told me they did not have the tires. (If you have them in inventory, but can’t find them –I would think someone’s stealing from the company). So he told me they could put Champion HR BL $97.99 tires on my car in place of the Fuzions. I stated ok. He brings me a bill totaling $172.98 (which in the beginning I paid 190.69 for the Fuzions) was was the warranty setting in? I explained to him I was not paying that amount I have a warranty. My warranty stated I pay for taxes, stems and disposal fees. Then he stated I would pay the $83.98. After looking @ my bill instead of prorating the tire repair and replacement he charged me full price, parts and labor. I’m seeing that Firestone does not live up to their commitments/warranties. I do a weekly clean of my wheel covers and tires I noticed that all “4” of my center caps were “CRACKED”. This was not like that before I took my car in. Someone cracked my caps and I’m expecting Firestone to replace them. Maybe they were upset because of the difference in price I paid for the tires. But this is not my fault. I’m expecting for Firestone to address this problem and correct it. I’m waiting to hear from you by November 30, 2009. My back tires are almost in the same situation and I really don’t want to deal w/the Racine store again, but I’m expecting this rectified.
