Nestled on the slopes of Mauna Loa in Waiākea Uka, above the charming town of Hilo, Liko Lehua was born. As a child, my great great grandmother was surrounded by the breathtaking ʻōhiʻa lehua trees, adorned with their beautiful red blossoms, which encompassed her childhood home. The name Liko Lehua was chosen to honor the deep affection for the ʻōhiʻa lehua groves and the perpetuated growth it has instilled in our family for generations.
