Nestled on the slopes of Mauna Loa in Waiākea Uka, above the charming town of Hilo, Liko Lehua was born. As a child, my great great grandmother was surrounded by the breathtaking ʻōhiʻa lehua trees, adorned with their beautiful red blossoms, which encompassed her childhood home.
