I placed an order for a Sony mini-audio system. Their web site showed that the item was IN STOCK, so I thought that I would have it within a few days. The next day I received a message from customer service telling me that the item was on backorder but should be in "soon." I checked the web site just to make sure it had said IN STOCK and sure enough, it still said they had it. The next day I spoke to the same customer service rep who left me the "in soon" message, but this time she said "I don't know when these will be coming in. Would you like me to find out?" I never heard back from her, despite several follow-up emails from me. Since I wasn't in a huge rush I thought I would wait a while for delivery. Every week or so I would check the status of my order (BACKORDERED) and the status of the item on their web site (IN STOCK). Finally, after about a month I ordered it elsewhere (HypeAudio) and received the stereo within a week. I emailed GoPCPlus asking that they cancel my backorder and acknowledge receipt of my cancellation request. No reply from them. The order still shows as open. So, they lie about the stock status, they provide misleading information about estimated ship dates, they don't respond to phone calls or emails. Why would anyone tolerate them?
