Customer Service at its worst. I have had no problems with other branches of Greyhound Bus Lines in terms of their Package Express system. However, the El Monte station takes the cake. I was out of town when I received a call that my package was ready for delivery on a Monday or Tuesday. I contacted the office the same day to advise them that I would be able to pick it up Thursday, and was told that that was okay and I would not incur any storage fees (they give you three days to pick up---or two days).
So, on thursday, I went to pick up the package and was immediately told that I would have to pay $2.00 or I would not get my package. I advised the lady working the desk that I confirmed with the person working the desk on Monday and Tuesday that it would be okay and no storage fees would be incurred. However, she insisted that I was lying and continued to recite their policy to me without giving me a chance to talk. After asking for a manager or supervisor, she said none were available and that I should leave now or she would get the sherriff to escort me out or arrest me (I was not even doing anything to warrant that, just pleading my case). I told her I would not leave without my table and that I wanted to use her phone to contact someone from corporate or her manager to have this settled or mediated, and she flaty refused. It got to a point that she told me to call a 800 number for Greyhound and threw the pamphlet on the counter, and once again, told me to leave or I would get arrested.
After going back to car to contact greyhound corporate to get things mediated, I was able to get my table, but not without this woman (I use that loosely) lecturing me and telling me that I should not come back to her office(and for that fact stated I should go to LA to pick up my packages(which I took as a homophobic remark from her).
To top it all off, she ended up slamming the table on the ground and hitting it against the counter, causing a crack on one of the legs(its a 50's surfboard coffee table--vintage and not replacable). When I called to report the claim to the manager of the branch, the worker tried to say she was the manager of the branch(which appears to be a total lie)

I have sent a complaint against her and El Monte Greyhound to corporate to help me. But, beware of this office and this woman.
