I paid for this insurance for my daughter because she was going to take a short term job as a traveling nurse. She was in the Virgin Islands working and got very sick from the water. I called and the guy on the phone said that she could go to a doctor because they had no emergency clinics in the VI. These doctors serve as emergency doctors and take patients first come first serve. I even got an email from HCCMIS agent telling me which one she should go to and that she would only be liable for $50.00 deductible. She paid the total bill in November and as of 4/20/12 she has never gotten reimbursed. They first refused us because they said the bill didn't say emergency. We got that straightened out in 3 days. Resubmitted the claim and then they denied it again saying it wasn't an emergency clinic. She wrote a long petition letter explaining everything and all documents were attached. They approved this for 3/4 of the money she was out. SO---what happens??? they make the check out to the Doctors Office when in fact they have right in front of them the bill showing that she paid it in full. She calls but has to wait until they get the check back. She is assured a check will be cut 2 weeks ago. Never happened. This is Apri 20, 2012 and she still hasn't gotten reimbursed for a medicial expense that happened in November, 2011. What a horrible insurance company this is. We will see if she gets the check that supposedly is set to be cut on April 24th. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My guess is they think they will wear you down so that you will just give up.
