Healthy Leonberger
At the end of 2009 my husband and I purchased a pet quality, female Leonberger puppy from Heart N Soul, owned by Rachel Dolan. We were looking for a large breed that would take on a nurturing role for our two older toy dogs. We are entirely satisfied with our newest family member and have not had any health issues to this point. Individual animals, like people, can have very bad reactions to certain drugs and chemicals. Anytime our pets are vaccinated or receive medication, we watch them closely for several days in case they have a reaction. As for the cost of the puppy, each person must decide what they can realistically afford to pay and wait until you find a puppy that fits that budget. Your purchase price is only the beginning of a lifelong financial commitment to your new family member.

I have to agree 100% with Scott Townley!! Who ever you are, you are seriously a whack job!!! I have had my Elvis for almost 3 yrs., and I could not ask for a better dog. If I EVER had any questions regarding his health, food or certain meds, Rachel always had the answers. If you ever read any of her posts, she gave a formula for fleas and ticks that would not harm out precious Leo's! If you were too lazy to follow directions and precautions, that is your own fault. I visited Rachel at her home with all her dogs many times, seeing she only lived 5 minutes from me, and I never saw or heard of any wrong doings of which you are suggesting. If you can't handle a Leo, you shouldn't have one and breeders should be warned about you honey! Do not blame Rachel for your stupidity!!!! She was very clear and made sure I understood how to care for my Leo and he is a very happy 2 1/2 yr. old. So buck up and take responsibility for your own faults and STOP trying to blame it on others!!! Get a grip !!!

Listen. You do not have a clue about Rachel's Breeding practices. We have had our Molly a FULL SIZED female for 2 1/2 years. She is perfect!!!! I am getting from your statements that the money she charges is too much for you to pay. I am also betting that you are a terrible pet owner!!! Am I right?? Inbreeding. pups with health problems
This person refused to take our advice when flea and tick medication reacted on her Leo. She started having seizures. I sent her information from the EPA and put her in touch with a person from Greyhounds Only who has many years of experience with Seizure dogs. These owners never replied to her or stopped giving flea and tick. Please understand that Flea and Tick medication is a SYSTEMIC POISON, IT BUILDS UP IN YOUR DOG OR CAT'S SYSTEM AND BREAKS DOWN THE IMMUNE SYSTEM. READ THE LABEL. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO IMMEDIATELY WASH COMPLETELY IF YOU GET IT ON YOU! THERE ARE HOLISTIC WAYS TO KEEP FLEAS AND TICKS OFF OF YOUR ANIMALS THAT ARE SAFE! HEART WORM MEDICATION IN REALITY IS GOOD FOR 45 DAYS. THE VET TELLS YOU TO DOSE EVERY MONTH BECAUSE IT IS EASIER TO REMEMBER. PLEASE NOTE, HEART WORM MEDICATION DOES NOT PREVENT HEARTWORM, IT WORKS BACKWARDS TO KILL ANY HEARTWORM THAT YOU ANIMAL MAY HAVE GOTTEN.. AGAIN A SYSTEMIC POISON.
Yes we raised the rate for our Leonbergers. We are still under what some breeders sell their puppies for. There is much more to breeding than putting two dogs together. We have NEVER INBRED OR LINE BRED OUR LEONBERGERS. THE PROOF IS ON THE DATA BASES.

When this person bought her puppy from me, she had an accident. We took care of the pup free of charge for 2 weeks. We invited these people to our home for holidays because they had no family in the area. They put our puppy down without telling us which is against our contract. Check us out for yourself

Inbreeding & Many Pups With Health Problems
BAD dog breeder. Many puppies with problems and tries to pass off mistake INBREEDING as "line breeding". Sells puppies to others who have many "accidental" breedings (between sibling puppies) and then splits sales of THEIR puppies at $1, 700 a dog!! Leos are undersized, cancers, epilepsy, etc. When owner (Rachel Dolan) told all about losing her job she started stepping UP her breeding and breeding every female in site and raised the rate for the Leos. HORRIBLE breeders and very misleading people. Of note: Owner also has a side business since being laid off, claiming she is a PET PSYCHIC MEDIUM now as well. Plethora of scam operations from this location. AVOID. There are a few good Leonberger breeders out there. This one should be avoided if you wish for a healthy long-living pet, especially for $1, 700!
