Bad Service
BAD SERVICES

THE PAINT DEPARTMENT IS ALWAYS UNDERSTAFFED. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ANYBODY TO SELL ME PAINT. I WALKED TO THE FRONT DESK TWICE TO BEG FOR SERVICES. CHRIS AT THE FRONT DESK CALLED SOMEONE TO SERVE THE PAINT DEPARTMENT. NOBODY SHOWED UP. I WALKED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE FRONT DESK AND PAIN DEPARTMENT, BEGGING REPEATEDLY FOR SERVICE. TWICE, AT THE PAINT DEPARTMENT, A HOME DEPOT PERSONNEL WALKED BY AND PROMISED SOMEONE WOULD COME TO HELP ME. NOBODY SHOWED UP. I WASTED ABOUT A HALF AN HOUR WITH NO HELP. I HAD TO LEAVE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO BUY PAINT FOR MY PROJECTS.

IS HOME DEPOT IN YUCCA VALLEY UNDERSTAFFED ?
MUST I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICES ?

I HOPE WE WILL HAVE A LOWE'S HERE SOON, SO I WILL GET BETTER SERVICES.

Water damage
bought new washer at HD, had it installed in May. All seemed fine til November when I noticed water puddles, soaked carpet in my basement near my washer/bathroom @ plumbing wall. Plumber found the condensate hose (from my furnace) dangling in the plumbing wall area. Apparently, the washer contractor had removed the furnace hose from the drain pipe to fit the new washer hose. So, I didn't know this until November when the furnace kicked on and started draining all over the floor.
Home Depot said they were not responsible for installs. The contractor said 6 months had elapsed so they were not responsible at that point, install warranty had expired. They were all very rude, said the actual install was not a problem. Had damage repairs and additional plumbing expenses. Very dissatisfied w Home Depot.

No airconditioning
The store management does not seem to understand that the air conditioning is imperative when it is 95 degrees outside. The store is huge and extremely stuffy. I almost fainted while sitting with a salesperson putting together the paperwork for the appliances purchased in this store (over $3, 000 total). I understand that the management probably wants to save money on electricity bills but it is wrong to treat customers that way. After all, if a patron gets a heatstroke or heart attack, the financial consequences could be much worse.

Carpeting
Carpeting installed. After the installers left, my husband and I had a chance to go over everything. We found tacking from the carpet edges sticking up in the entrance to kitchen, dining room, bathroom and end of living room where tacking was down for the capping which we found out while they were there that it was going to be another $20.00 for capping.
Our screen door was bent, linen closet door was kicked in as they probably had to set the door and carpet right so they just kicked it in place and left crack in the bottom of the door. Our heating register was all disassembled, my husband and brother-in-law had to put it together again. We had to paint our wrought iron rail plus do some painting on the newly painted walls where there were scratches and nicks.
So, as requested, the carpet man came back to hammer in all the tacks that were sticking out, fixed the screen door and said that because he had to come back to correct these things, he had no work for the rest of the day!!! Boo Hoo!!! He also said that if Home Depot paid for my linen closet door it would come out of his pocket. So, I let that go and tried to fix the crack with stain. We still have tacks sticking out --- one of which punctioned my foot, to boot!!! We also have enough carpeting to carpet my small bedroom. We had to pay for almost 8 extra square yards of carpet.
Here's the kicker----Home Depot is still haunting us for a $20 fee for capping a 6 ft area that Measure Corp. should have seen when they came to measure. Now, with all the work we had to do --- repainting the rail and wall nicks, still hammering nails, forgeting about the linen closet door, it sounds like Home Depot owes us money for repairing things ourselves.

Kitchen installation a disaster!
We hired Home Depot for our kitchen install. When they started the install right away there were issues. The contractors they pay to service their accounts don't clean up after themselves. They left razor blades and little pieces of metal on our floor tucked underneath the fridge. We kept finding them even after a week and we have a 10 month old crawling baby! They delivered our countertop cut incorrectly. When we called them about it not being cut properly they said they knew of the issue and were going to fix it however 3 weeks later when I called again to find out when it would be delivered they said they were going to at that point put in the order which would take another 3 weeks for the company to cut it. Basically the hadn't planned on fulfilling their end of the deal because they hadn't even put in the order until I called to question them on it. Not to mention the one that was way oversized that they had already glued in place. Then we come to find all these other issues like the peninsula countertop has a hole cut out of the bottom of it that leads directly into the interior of our cabinets! They gave me multiple excuses for why I had a hole underneath like for example the hole had to be there because of our stove and if it wasn't there then the countertop would crack from the heat. So when I asked them why there wasn't a hole like that on the other side they had no reply. Then they said they would patch and fill the hole if I had a problem with it! Yes I have a problem with it! So I told them if they were going to patch it then it wasn't there due to the counter cracking because of heat! My problem being that I didn't pay $42.00/per square foot for them to deliver it cut incorrectly. Home Depot has treated me horribly throughout this ordeal and has even told me that I have issues because my expectations are too high. Am I wrong to believe if I order a service from a company and pay for my part that they shouldn't have to fulfill their obligation. Is this what our money gets us today! A bad job and extra stress living of having my daughter find something that can seriously hurt her! Seems to me that Home Depot is out to rip you off and if you don't have the money to sue them then they don't care and will continue to rip people off and leave dangerous situations for their families. These are just the major ones like I said. We still have loose outlets and pieces of the cabinet structures that aren't stable. They have said twice so far that they will fix these issues and 2 months after they are supposed to be done they have told me my expectations are too high and that they will not fix any of these issues. They have even told me just today that the silestone company that they contract out only cuts 35 out of 100 countertops without holes underneath them. Yet they continue to still use them to service their accounts! I can't warn you enough about the service you will receive from Home Depot and their contractors! Especially if you have kids or animals please beware of the dangers they subject you and your loved ones to.

Kitchen Cabinet disaster
Made a supid decision to purchase new kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. this project started about Feb. 7, 2011. Its June 23, 2011 and stil not finished.
Since I made payment in full, I got zero help from 4 different employees in their kitchen and bath department to iron out problem after problem.
First disaster, I was told the entire price and agreed and paid. But they left out the counter top from the order. I believe their intentions was to avoid quoting a price over $10, 000 to keep me from backing out of the deal. Two weeks later they ask me to come in and pay for the countertop. HUH? another $1200. somewhere, their employees or the Cabinet company American Woodmark screwed up the parts list, the home installer had overestimed more work than was necessary.
This led to many revisons of the bill and the HD employees failed to provide me with revised bills to track the price adjustments and refunds due to me.
When the cabinets were installed, too many parts were sent and the refunds on the not needed pieces were much lower than I had paid. but no explanation provided. the kitchen and bath people would not even talk to me. The expeditor at the store never ever contacted me. I was told she would be calling almost daily. so the cabinets were in and the countertop company tried to drag out the installation another two months. no help from the HD expeditor. American Woodmark sales rep's attitude was horrible. some cabinet doors were warped and needed replaced. Plastic shipping clips were impossible to remove to adjust shelf height. They should have supplied metal pins to replace the clips.
the installer made a mistake in the sink plumbing and the leak, bubbled up the surface of the sink cabinet and warped the side boards. and the paint peeled off from a leak that was no more than 16 oz of drain water.

My basic complaint is simple, zero cooperation once I paid the bill and the installation time was 3 months too long. I am due several small refunds, corrected refunds.
The installer was the only person who cared about the job being done right.

service - bad attitude
went in to purchase an air compresser, and a whole house generator.
stood around 15 - 20 minutes trying to get help. Finally got help from a young boy that really could not answer my questions and went to "find someone". I was just left, no one came back. I went to service desk and made comment "I guess I will have to go to Lowes". The little girl replies back "OK, have a nice day". I guess Home Depot does not want to sell high ticket itmes in these tight times, but sends people away to Lowes...OK by me.

no patriotism
I am the wife of a DEPLOYED SOLDIER. My husband opened an account with Home Depot while I was PCSing to Alaska. He didn't add me to the account because it wasn't on his mind. Two months later, he deployed to fight this fight. I was told that I could not add myself to the account. They said he would have to call and do so. So he did, mind you I missed a phone call in doing so. They still refused to add me because my husband had no contact number to be reached by! I faxed my Special Power of Attorney. I was told no, again! Then as I tried to close the account due to a lack of understanding on their behalf, I was told I would be charged $14.95! What is this?! We opened this account not because we need a line of credit, but because we are newlyweds and trying to build a credit history together. I will BOYCOTT Home Depot from this point further.

CUSTOMERS
I work at Home Depot, and for the first time I was sickened buy the actions of customers today! Why do customers act like children on a play ground when they visit a store? Now not all customers do this, but a select few do! I'm sure each store has there customers that have been just total douche bags! Now before all you customers start a riot please under stand, Home Depot employees for the most part are not making your lives hell in the store. Now there are tho'es special employees at Home Depot that I would love to just drop kick in the face! That doesn't just stop at Associate's, I'm talking ASM's and store managers too. You as a customer have rights, as do we as people working for you.

I have some basic rules of thumb! As a customer, does and don'ts!
1. Don't walk in to any store thinking you can just demand any thing! You can, but the Associate's are not trained to deal with this! You will end up pissing some one off! Some times its just regular customers that are going to stick up for the Associate (and beet your azz in the parking lot for being a douche bag), and is now dumb founded you want some huge discount cause you have 5 coupons, bounced to 3 different companies and now want a price match along with the box is open and your a vet! Bringing the grand total of your $400.00 mower to $5.98 with your now 98.756% discount! STOP being so cheep!

2. If an Associate cant do some thing, they CANT do it! A manager may be able to. Don't make your issue the Associate's! FFS you just met them 4 min ago! Dont get pissy, If they say they cant its most likely cause at the Associate level they cant! Ask for a manager, that's why an Associate makes $9.50/h and a manager makes $20.00/h, They can and will deal with any issues you may have.

3. If you would beat the crap out of a complete stranger for crapping on your living room floor then don't crap in a Home Depot! IE.
a. Ask for help before climbing the racking! ITS NOT SAFE! if your dumb azz falls, all Associate's and above pay for your stupidity!
b. Don't open boxes if you want to look at some thing! That's why there are displays, now I know there are not displays for every thing but most things there are! In my store, if you open it, I will be asking you to purchase it!
c. Service dogs! Need I say more? Guess so. A service dog is the ONLY pet allowed in a Home Depot. Now, again just like the crappy customers there are customers that take care of there dogs when they visit a store. And I thank them all day. Its the ones that let there dog run around the store pissing, crapping, barking, and recently biting customers. I mean WTF, hello!
d. Kids in a working warehouse? That's kinda like service dogs! There are big azz forklifts that last time I checked can't stop on a dime! kid vs. forklift??? just Google it!
The above is just a few of the, don't crap in my lawn and I wont crap in yours! And Im looking past having to pick up after all the customers that stash there coffee cups, pop cans, water bottles candy bar wrappers and just plane trash where ever they stuff it! Looking past all the thief's, and dumb azzes that cant read or come in looking for some thing that is found on line. "but your web page says you have it! Guess what people Im here the and we don't have it! Looking past the people looking to stock the cute cashiers, and cant find the pissers to OD on some drugs passing out in the bathroom's. Also looking past the tweeker's that once in the bathrooms after they stuffed the leather man you know they must have paid for in there pants start stealing all the copper off the sinks in the bathrooms. I am very forgiving. BTW I love it when a customer comes in to the brake room and steals a lunch! That's the best one!

Next is a big issue for me. Fork lifts people. The home Depot has an SOP rule, its called the "Zone of Safety" it is simply this. No one can enter a zone of safety. The zone is 4 feet on both left and right of the lift truck and 10 feet in the direction of travel. Why is it when a Associate tells a customer this they still just walk there happy azz where they where just told not to? Why? Why would any one walk with in 10 feet of the lift truck on any side? You do know some one has died to make this rule? Its there for a reason!

Next banners, again WTF people. Its a banner blocking off an aisle, and what do some customers do? Open it and walk there impatient azz in, to get the product they want! A 10 yo little girl in California died because Home Depot didn't use them, now we do! Stop walking through them please!

Im sure I could go on but I want to go to bed now!

Food for thought, stop being a douche bag! be nicer to people not just Associate's but just people in general.

Oh ya one more! We cant load past your GVW, we as Associate's can and will be fired for over loading a rig! So stop asking for a full unit of OSB (3600 LBS) on you home made butt end of a truck trailer, and we wont load your VW with a pallet of concrete (3900LBS), also wont load a unit of block (2600 LBS and UP) in your ranger. We dont care if last week you had any of the following loaded in your truck,
a.100 people (dont care)
b.5 yards of rock (dont care)
c.my wife or my mom(dont care) LOL really dont care
And we really dont care if just yesterday Bob loaded the same thing, I am not Bob and Bob is now deserving a kick in the face!

Have a nice day!
