LensCrafters Reviews

Extermely Poor Service, Late, Prejudice
My father ordered prescription glasses from Lenscrafters at towncenter mall in Kennesaw Ga. We did not get any phone call from them so I called after 3 weeks. Store rep said they are in store Lab. 3 weeks ago at the time of purchase they were being sent out to Ohio. Then a girl who said she was the manager told me that Ohio is backed up with Orders & lenses just came in. Next day i went to pick them up. My dad couldn't see through the reading glasses. Rep looked irate when asked for reasons for blurriness. He was RUDE (he did not yell but his temperament with my father & I was very mean because my dad couldn't see through the lenses & he didn't really felt like dealing with us). Lets see what happens what happens after few days. Per rep the eyes should adjust to the lenses in few day.

Poor quality of lens
After the forth pair of lens they still can't get it right. Now they refuse to refund my money, they want to keep trying to get the lens right. 7 weeks 4th pair ! I think not.
I've worn glasses for 30 years and never have I had as poor of quality as from them.
I've never returned a pair of glasses ever in my life. These lens are crap. They even used (so they said) the best material they have.
Well they have poor techs working on them too, first 3 lens they gave me had scratches all over them. But they asked why I couldn't just wear them like that!
I told them the Purple Fringe was the worst I've ever seen, the head tech asked me what that was.
I told him I would expect someone in his position should know that.
(look it up on internet)

If you are doing your research and looking for quality... DO NOT GO TO LENSCRAFTERS !

Paint comes off the frames
I have had 2 pairs of glasses from LC that the paint came off of. The first time they gave me frames for free. the second and worst time, I was a couple days over the one year mark and was too busy to get in. I was using permanent marker on the frames daily so I wouldn't look ridiculous. They would not credit me past the 1 year mark. So if your glasses fail you, get in there ASAP even if you hafta cancel meetings at work or with sick patients like I had to do.

Horrible customer service
After having my eyes examined to re-order contacts I received a call from the Lenscrafters in Sanford, Florida mall to change my prescription on my form...When I ordered a 6-month supply of contacts I flew to Illinois for the Christmas holidays. I have not been able to read at all and wore them for almost 2 weeks until I flew back home to Florida..

I checked the copy of the contact prescription in my files and they had given me the worn prescription to begin with. I am planning to return to the Sanford mall tomorrow after classes at college and will receive the right prescription. I am very pissed them again after this horrible customer service...

Poor Service Poor Customer Service
Dec 6 9009 Went in for exam and 2 pairs of glasses.I wanted 1 to be sunglasses.First she made out order we left after leaving store and on orad home she called about 20 minutes later and told us that the pair my hubby ordered couldnt be ordered so we had to turn around go back and re-order.We had to wait another 3 to 7 days before the money showed back on our medical insurance debit card.We got our glasses about 3 weeks after we ordered. But not my sunglasses. Those came later and the lenses are bad and unacccetable by their standards. So now here it is 1 month later still waiting for sunglasses and I am getting every excuse they can come up with as to what is wrong.LOVED it today when they said that they talked to my husband on his cell phone. He never got a call and he does not leave his cell phone laying around where others can use it.HELLO lenscraftres DO NOT LIE.

Scam , do not use
I purchased my eyeglasses from Lencrafters, Camp Creek Market Place, Fast Point, GA. I returned to Lencrafters, the same store the purchase was made, and ask for my nose pads to be replaced. They did replace but charged me $10 plus. That was several months past.

Today, I visited Pearle Vision and ask for nose pad replacements. Pearle Vision replaced the pads without a charge and did not even ask where I purchased my eyeglasses.

Lenscrafters have lost a customer.

Late delivery and poor customer service
My mother had an eye exam from a Dr. in the local LensCrafter store and then ordered glasses with the help of Debbie in that store. This was in November with an estimated delivery date of 11/23/09. It is now 12/21/09 and we still do not have the glasses. The store blames it on their lab because they did not make the glasses as ordered. I made a call over a week ago and Debbie then advised that the lab was just sitting on the order since they didn't know how to fill it. This is very bad customer service!!

Worst place to go
I purchased a pair of Oakley glasses from LensCrafters in San Mateo Califoria. I paid in advance with insurance to have the prescription filled. They called me a few weeks later to tell me Oakley could not put a prescription in those frames (why didnt the sales rep know that???).

I tried to find another pair at their store but didnt like any. I returned a few months later with a pair I purchased elsewhere and requested to hve the prescription filled in them.

When picked up the glasses I complained that the prescription was not correct and it was blurry. They told me they were sorry but the 30 days had expired. I have been trying for weeks to get someone to realize that the 30 day clock should start ticking when a pair of glasses with a prescription has been received - not when they are ordered and unable to be filled with a prescription (especially if due to their error).

Although that makes common sense this organization has policies in place that store managers cannot be deviate from no matter how ludicrous.

There is no way to escalate to anyone else other than customer service. They told me they will look into it but so far are not returning my calls.

Costco has a much better return policy, very high quality, nice people and better prices. You can take your own frames in to be filled.

I would not recommend going to LensCrafters if you can avoid it.

Money scam
I had a check sent to my local store Lenscrafters in Phoenix AZ located on Camelback Road. The check didnt have my name on it, so the store elected to just case the check instead of holding it and see if a customer comes in. I showed up 2 times and was told I had to provide cancelled check. I had to request a copy of the check to get my refunded and they still wont after the 9th time visiting their store. Its 85.00! and no services were provided! I have bee trying to get my money back for 3 mo. DONT shop there

Service and product
In September, we went to LensCrafters to make prescription eyewear for my wife. She made one pair as prescription sunglasses and another pair as progressives for her work and daily use. We were told initially it would be an hour and within minutes were told it would take 10 days because it was to be sent away to the lab. 9 days later we got a call saying there would be a delay because one lense was of the wrong prescription. We waited again for a week and when we got in and tried it out, my wofe found that the prescription was not correct. One side was the wrong prescription. It was in fact worse than what she was using in the past. So we told them about this problem and also noted that what was to be the good lense was chipped. We also asked why was it not edged polished as her last pair as was requested. They then proceeded to polish the edges and fix the chip. We waited and when we got it back found that the removal of the chip actually caused a dent in the edge. The optician said nothing till we told her. She then replied that she knew about it and only wanted to see how it fitted. We asked why was the service so poor and the long wait to get a good pair of glasses. The answer we got was 'I only work here, I have no conttrol of what goes on'. I think that is the lamest excuse of service and should not be tolerated by any client or business. We then had them redo the prescription to what we wanted and they again told us another 10 days. Today is Tuesday December 8/2009. We were told this on November 24th. We called them last Thursday December 3rd and was only told it was not in as yet. At no point did they call to explain any delays or issues. Today, I am about to call them again and complain. But from what I see on this site, I will not hesistate to take my business elsewhere the next time. I will also be talking to our family doctor who we have been going to for the last nearly 20 years. Unfortunately his clinic is next door to Lenscrafters and he needs to know how bad their service is. I hope he ends his business relations with this Lenscrafters outlet.
