Lowe's Reviews

Bad experience
On September 6th I purchased a Rubbermaid shed at lowes.com with a designated store at Nanuet, NY. For 3 weeks I have been trying to get this shed delivered to my house. During that time I needed to constantly initiate calls to the store, follow up and stay on top of things, only to find out, time after time, that customer service is a phrase that Lowes is not familiar with. For them I was no more than one annoying customer that they were trying to get off their back.

Do NOT Use Lowe's for windows
Don't waste your time, money, and sanity - Lowe's is a nightmare. I had them replace a large window in my home. They messed up the order initially, forgetting to order interior and exterior trim for the window. So the window arrived at the store on 6/1 without those parts, delaying my installation. After weeks of useless, terrible customer service, the remaining parts finally arrived and my window was installed at the end of August. Yes, that's right, my window that I paid for in April sat in the Lowe's store for over 2 months waiting for missing parts. After it was installed, we discovered they were the wrong windows. I paid for grills between the glass, but that's not what we got. So now we had to have new sashes ordered to replace the wrong ones. After calling the store multiple times to find out when the correct windows would be available and getting NO ONE to call me back, I finally called the district manager for the store. He said he'd take care of it personally and get me the right product. I waited several more weeks, and finally the new sashes arrived. The installers came to switch them out, only to discover when they unwrapped the sashes that they had the wrong color grills. So here I sit, and the end of September, still waiting for the product I paid for 5 months ago to arrive. At this point I'm doubtful I'll ever get the correct items.

turned away for 34 cents
I rent out houses so I frequent Lowe's about 2 or 3 times a week. Upon checking out I realized I had misplaced a portion of my money. My total was $21.34 and I had $21.00 in hand. The cashier suggested I patrol the store and see if anyone would give me the money if I didn't think I had 34 cents in my car. I spend at least 30, 000 dollars a year in Lowe's and no logical arrangements could have been made.It says a lot about your value. LOWE'S ON THE BELTLINE IN MOBILE, AL

Front Door Installation
My latest Lowe's managed front door replacement project started off
great and sadly, has come to a disastrous stage. In the end, the
installers came and removed my front door down to the studs and then
realized that the custom door that was measured and ordered by their
team, did not fit.

The process ended in the customer service representative ordering a
new better door that would arrive in 2+ weeks instead of the same door
I had ordered that would have taken 8+ weeks. I was also at that time
promised compensation in the tune of $750 which was the price of the
original door. I mentioned that I didn't care about the updated door
but if it was what they wanted to do - so be it.

In the mean time my front door has been replaced by plywood on the
outside and insulation on the inside. While the outside view is
priceless on it's own - http://twitpic.com/2bxtga - the inside view is
even better. The inside view shows the exposed insulation with the
warning label repeating 30+ times:

"This facing will burn. Do not leave exposed. It must be covered
with gypsum board or other code-approved materials and installed in
compliance with building codes."

As you can see in this picture, http://twitpic.com/2bxu8x, that is
not the case. I have three young children and normally try to avoid
fire hazards in my home.

To end the day I was called to say that the earlier offer was not
approved and should not have been extended and instead I would be
extended the pleasure of a free storm door instead. I am not sure
what else could go wrong with the project and the associated customer
service but luckily the situation is not nearly yet over and more
disappointment may be looming.

No Delivery
I ordered a whirlpool washer 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything from Lowe's in North Bergen, NJ. I called them and one person told me it wasn't in stock and another associate told me the delivery was for tomorrow. Why are they lying to the customers? I cancelled my order and vowed never to go back there again. I'm never recommending that place to anyone. Don't go to Lowe's. Horrible attitude toward customers and no respect.

Stay away from them
I purchased a $159 Extended Protection Plan for my Whirlpool Washer. The paint is peeling off. A Lowe's service technician and a customer representative from Lowe's Service Advantage said it was misapplication by the manufacturer. However, Lowe's is breaking their legal contract with myself and calling is "cosmetic damage" (please reference Lowe's EPP contract). WARNING! Do not purchase an Extended Protection Plan from Lowe's! Purchase one directly from the manufacturer. I wanted to file a small claim against Lowe's; however, the filing costs were over $100.

SCHEDULING IDIOTS
Lowe's is an idiot on scheduling. They have more employees scheduled in the morning, then available customers! Seasonal-Students are scheduled anywhere from 25 hours to 33 hours in a given week. Part-Timers are scheduled only 13 hours! Where are their brain or lack of a brain? Lowe's you are definitely STUPID!

SEASONAL - STUDENTS ARE PAID MORE THAN PART - TIMERS
I just found out that a Seasonal-Student is paid a lot more than the Part -Timers. The Seasonal-Student started in 2008, less than 2 years ago. That person is being paid $10.60 an hour. I work all year round and have been with Lowe's for 6 years. I'm still getting paid under $10 an hour. It's almost a dollar more than I get paid. I'm struggling to see how to pay my mortgage and utilities! What's wrong with this picture! What is Lowe's thinking. Lowe's steal hours from the Part-Timers and cut them down to 10 hour per week and gives them to the Seasonal-Students. Seasonal-Students even are given more than 10 hours a week. They will not be living out on the streets, like I will be very soon. They still have a home to go back to! Not happy at all concerning this matter. Lowe's treat their loyal Part-Timers like dirt or scum! Lowe's treat the Seasonal-Students like gold! : ( Lowe's need to pay your Part-Timers more! A lot of Part-Timer are very upset of the whole situation!

HEALTH CONCERNS AT LOWE'S FOR THEUR LOADERS
Head Cashiers has no concerns about their Loaders getting Heat Stroke. They (Lowe's, Managers, Human Resources, or Head Cashiers) do not give Loaders enough time or frequency to allow them to get their core temperature down or allow them to drink enough water to get rehydrated. Lowe's makes this great speech about "Safety" and how important it is. Concerning this matter they lie, lie, and lie. They prefer a person to pass out and still will not admit to it, because they have idiots in charge of their stores. Lowe's apparently do not care about their hard working employees getting Heat Stroke and Collapse! Come on people wake up and think of what you are doing! We are talking about 90 degree temperatures and a heat index of 100%. How Stupid can you be!

NICK NAME THE PRINCESS
She is nick name the Princess by most of the employee's at Lowe's. The Lowe's store manager allows it to happen, because his is an idiot! She came in as a seasonal employee. She was too lazy to pick up an insert that had fallen onto the floor, so she stepped on it and shoved it under a skid. Now she has head cashier rights no thanks to the big idiot store manager. We are suppose to clock in with our vest or apron on, but no in her case. She clocks in with no vest or apron on, because she is the princess. When she is late she will decline the punch in an make some excuse why she was not able to punch in on time. She is power hungry and treat some employee like shit in front of customers. Customers are in disbelief. She is impatient, rude, lazy and dishonest, but the big idiot store manager will keep her! She love to sit in customer service and do nothing. She will walk around the store and do nothing when she is acting head cashier. Basic getting paid from Lowe's for doing nothing! Lowe's really know how to waste money on this employee, no thanks to the store manager! There is this fact that she will steal the head cashier keys when she can get the chance to do so. That way she can just stand there and look pretty and now she has the power, because she has the keys. But Lowe's will keep this employee, The Princess!
