ECHO PLUS HARD TO HEAR
I was able to receive a legit complaint line--281-404-1551--when I called the number of the receipt for 5 years' service on my credit card. Nervous since I'd googled MagicJack and saw the complaints. But I had to wait only a minute to talk to a service rep. However, she being in Georgia and me in Ohio the connection was crap: everything I said was echoed back to me with a several second delay. Very disconcerting. However, I was told I needed to enter into the Magic Jack on my computer the code they had sent my email in order to activate the five years' worth of service I'd paid for. When I told her about Hotmail emptying my email account of all messages a month ago or so with no warning or explanation, she offered to email it again to me. It actually arrived and now I'm not up for renewal until 2017. I'm antsy about the other complaints, but, except for the echo plus hard-to-hear phone call I made to the state of Georgia for help, I haven't yet investigated additional problems. You have to go to my.magicjack.com to access your settings with your email address & the password they sent you when you activated it (I had put info in a file) and choose a phone number. I even gave up trying to think of one with an acronym easy to remember and let them pick it, & it was really easy to remember, so I didn't pay extra for a special number. Hope this helps someone.

unauthorized charges to visa
In early March of 2010, I ordered the Magic Jack telephone service. I couldn't get it to work with my phone so called for help. I was told it would not work since I have a Wildblue Satellite Dish for my computer. I returned the product and was accredited with the charges on the 13th of March, 2010. This year on March 11 a charge of $20.91 was posted to my Visa credit card. I called the number for billing questions and was on the phone 17 minutes listening to a repetitive recorded message telling me how busy they were. I finally went on line to try to contact someone at Magic Jack and found they wanted $38.00 to answer my question! I have called my Visa account representative and they are sending me a form to dispute these charges. I just wanted to register an complaint somewhere else, as well. Thanks Mucho! Mary D Martin.

Distortion on Line
When I place a call, the person on the other end of the phone camplains that they cannot hear everything I say and that the phone gives a distortated signal.
This has only happened during the last few months...what is the problem?

Can't call some numbers
I cannot call certain numbers with any of my magic jacks. I have notified Magic Jack support and they tell me to "be patient, the engineers are aware of this problem". I first notified support March 26, 2011, today, May 5, 2011 the problem still isn't resolved.

Inability to receive help from personnel
I have tried to change the name on my magicjack account so that the name on the account matches the name on my credit card. This would enable me to pay for the service with my credit card. However, I am experiencing great difficulty with accomplishing this task. Please help.

I cannot recieve incoming calls
Why is it that I cannot recieve incoming calls? the last time I recieve call is on march 29, 2011. What is the problem...when my father calls.. it rings but the computer says "wrong area code" my father used to call us by those no. why is it that it suddenly got problem. I can do outgoing calls to U.S.
Im hoping that you will attend to my problem with my magic jack as soon as possible. communication is very important to us.

Company is a ripoff
I paid full price for this Magic Jack and paid for speedy delivery. I am out $50. It was stolen when delivered and they told me I was out of luck. I would not get a refund or a replacement. Be forwarned. "Do not buy this product or you will lose your money." The customer service is unbelievably inferior.

Cannot make outgoing calls
I bought a Magic Jack connection and have installed on my computer. I can receive calls on the magic box line but I cannot make any outgoing calls.
