Online scam
I am still trying to recover a refund after returning TWO of the so called 'magicjacks'!! They have no REAL customer service reps., and the number I have has no REAL person there to answer the phone. The number that was provided to my bank is DISCONNECTED. The only way you can contact these people is through 'chats' on the website!! I am pissed because $93.80 is gone from my account account and these piss ants will not return my money after SEVERAL attempts on my part!!

International rates not true
1- Not customer service.Definitivamente, sin servicio al Cliente.
2- False International rates. Llamadas Internacionales, mucho
más caras, de lo anunciado.
3- Sending magicjacks, don' t order, and off course charging
costumer. Mandan extra magicjacks, aunque Ud, no los pida,
cargándole a su tarjeta de crédito.
No lo recomiendo, en lo absoluto, a nadie.
I don't recomend this product. They want your money only.

They mislead customers about area codes
I got my Magic Jack early on. They did not let people know that not all area codes are available - don't know if they disclose that now before you buy the magic jack. My local area codes is not available, so I have to use an area code for a different city than where I live; and I bought this phone service to be able to use it as my local phone. I have been receiving 'promises' for months through the chat service with the technical services people that they are adding area codes and will eventually have all of them available; yet their website shows that the area codes list has not been updated since April 2, 2008. Anyone else having this problem?

Online scam
Magicjack is a big ripoff, my magicjack worked half the time, other times it would disconnect or have terrible static or a couple of times the people i have called could not even hear me, though i could hear them perfectly. The only way to contact them is through their website, through a live chat, which i got disconnected a couple of times just. They say try it free for a month.
Their 'Magic fix' doesn't work, I'm so unhappy this is the biggest ripoff.

Don't buy it
Magicjack overcharged me for the initial amount which was supposed to be 39.95 I wound up paying 89.95. Then they tried to charge me again the next month 39.95 fortunately I caught it before they could do anymore damage. My bank told me about the many complaints they have received from customers for this product. I know realize that not every endorsement is a good endorsement. I'm placing a complaint with the bbb and fcc.
There is no way to contact them on the phone. Don't buy magicjack it is jacked!!! Don't buy it!!!

Consumer, beware
I ordered the MJ for the receive the free trial on 5/23/2008. A free trial I did not receive my card was charged $50.85 this charge was not pending it is complete. I contacted MJ and their response was "your bank is incorrect we do not charge your account until the free trial period ends" I do know how to read a bank statement, it throw up a red flag. I still wanted to try the system even with the charge concern, I felt this is the answer to high phone bills from my greedy phone company. 4 days ago I was talking on the phone and the line went dead I thought NY server went down it was fine. Before I contacted MJ I tried some processes I know to restore the system nothing. I contacted JM and spoke no Chatted with 8 different reps, reformatted my drive, downloaded an "upgrade", unplugged the unit, restarted the unit, restarted my computer, in total of 21 times and not one of them knew how to fix and could what was wrong with the unit. I asked for a refund and got the run for 2 days, had to call my bank and stop payment. I my opinion the Magic Jack I a whole lot of hype and no show. Consumer Beware.

Beware
I had problems with it so I tried to get customer Service, before I knew that there were not a live customer service, to explain some things for me, but I was unable to contact a live person.
So I ordered the magicjack mess, and not happy that I cannot talk to anyone in a customer service department, and now I know I cannot cancel it. I am afraid that they have my credit union account information and I want to return or cancel magicjack. I do know what to do next, maybe their is a possible connection for this company, but I do not know where to find anything, so please address my concerns.

No tech support
Purchased MagicJack -- never got it to install -- tech support consists of on line people who take you everywhere but getting the problem solved. No e-mail or phone contact to be found anywhere -- almost seems as though they have something to hide and are running a huge scam.
Tried this route at least 3 times and NOTHING.

No customer service dept.
Magic jack was advertised on a shopping network station on Direct TV. I called and ordered one. This device is supposed to deliver a phone line through your computer. I received an email saying that my order was confirmed. However, instead of one majic jack, the order was confirmed for two. The email states that if the quantity is incorrect to reply to the email. Well, as soon as you reply, you get an email back saying that the email address is discontinued. The number on TV is only a voice giving directions on how to order. Their website does not have a telephone number either. You cannot reach them in any way, as designed. I have to wait until my order is received and deal with my credit card company. I don't know what the future holds on this venture.

They robbed us
We tried Magic Jack for the free 30 day trial (free... lol). Even when it was working, there was at least a 30-60 second delay on outgoing calls, as well as incoming... you answer the phone and hear nothing (on the callers end it is still ringing, even though you have picked up). Then it just stopped working altogether. Don't even get me started on customer service, what customer service? When we did get a live chat tech, we went back and forth for hours, with 0 resolve. We finally returned the device, with in our 30 days, so not to be charged the $50. We got delivery confirmation to prove when they received the magic jack back, and we know they received it. Well, they still charged our bank account for $50. They got their product back and our $50, that is where the scam comes in! I called my bank, and they advised us to file a dispute once the charge clears (its still a pending transaction right now). Hopefully we will get our money back that way. Magic Jack robbed us!!
