scam
i ordered magicjack on the 30 day free trial but was charged the day after I ordered. I contacted customer support and they informed me that if I used a bank card then it would charge that day and they would refund me later if I didnt like the magicjack. I was informed that on my billing confirmation email it should have stated that I would be charged. I went back and actually opened my billing statement comfirmation email and yes at the bottom it stated the due to the nature of the offer all debit card users would not get the 30 day free trial. Now I don't know about anyone else but I use my debit card as a credit card every day and I have never had any problems before. To make matters worse I get terrible reception. My phone line through magic jack cuts out terribly and I can hardly hear the other person plus they can hardly hear me.

This device is marginal at best, howerver, in an attempt to renew a one year service agreement it was impossible to renew for less than a 3 year deal. The "online chat" couldn't assist in my request to renew for the one year deal and there was no one to call directly to get any resolution to my request. Matter of fact they wouldn't even give out a phone number so I could talk with anyone directly. At that point I realized that this company and their gadget was truly another comsumer ripoff. I do hope the SOB gets sued for this unethical business practice. BUYER BE WARE!!! These are corporate thieves!

it doesn't work and they want me to pay to get another one
since day one i haven't been able to get it too work, my phone won't ring and i missed a lot of phone calls, service was allways cut off.
on line help wanted me to replace it, but i won't have to pay for it.
it has cost me more to use magicjack than paying for long distance calls from my phone company. THEY KNOW HOW TO RIP YOU OFF AND GET AWAY WITH IT AS WELL..

I purchased a MagicJack May, 09, for the life of me it's impossible to get through to MagicJack to renew for another
year.I contacted them MJ via the internet and was told my account was being reviewed.I asked them verbatim for
what, was told they couldn't divulge this information.This particular product has its' bugs and glitches, they abandon people that purchase their product.I would sure like to know what's going on w/ this company, MagicJack
in general.

Warning: not recognized by my USB
I bought my (two) MagicJack phone lines over two years ago. I used my MagicJack to replace my house phone and office phone. After two years of reasonable service, I purchased a third MagicJack as a gift for my mother, who lives in Austin, TX. I have to admit, I am not 100% satisfied. I have experienced several 'dropped' calls, as well as calls that echoed, and the phone simply cutting off on it's on at times.
Just today (03-22-2010) I spent several hours on the internet with three different online helpers-and even after giving the third helper control of my computer, they could not fix my issue which is that everytime I turn on my computer, my magicJack is not being recognized, so I have to run the magicJack Fix program everytime. Once I do, it works fine. My complaints would be more substantial if I had a larger investment, but for the less than $300 I've spent on my three magicJacks, I have three phones for five years of service...the service, though not perfected, is well worth it. I have truely saved a lot of money on local phone service and was happy to say good bye to them. I think with any 'new' product, there will come issues, so I am patiently working through them with magicJack and look forward to more improvements. If I were to rate the magicJack for it working, I give it an 85% (B). As for customer service, I believe they tried every time I chatted online with them 91%(A-) and over all, a (B+).
It's not perfect, but compared to how much I was paying, I'm staying with my magicJack(s) and recommending it to others who are willing to sacrifice perfection for decent service and bye-bye monthly bill.

will not install on new computer
i bought a magicjack it worked great on my old computer but i bought one(gateway) now it will not loadup, i like!! no loved it when it worked. can you tell me what maybe problem.(ps) looking forward to using my phone.my phone#for magicjack is(313)355-8057 &my cell phone#is(313)457-3286 hope you can help would hate to terminate my service

What a POS this gizmo turned out to be. Ive had MJ for about 7 months. The MJ worked fine for the first month or two and then it was all down hill. Some areas I call won;t connect or if they do connect the other person breaks up to the point where the call is useless.<br />

Service?
It works fine for me, with 2 MAJOR exceptions...

#1 - "all lines are currently busy" ... this means you cant call out, and nobody can reach you (not even your voicemail) if you are trying to call during peak hours.

#2 - No customer service? When I click the link for Live Chat on their site it redirects me to their FAQ page... ? No telephone number to reach them and no address either...

Besides that, the service is pretty good. I guess you get what you pay for in this world...

Bad product, Incoming calls
Well i saw on this blog that some people believe we are just irrate people who dont like magicjack. But i have to say i tried to give magicjack the benefit of the doubt. I bought it over 5 months ago and continue to have problems receving calls. If you are on the computer when someone tries to call, then the mj screen takes about 30 seconds to come up, while the phone rings non stop without stopping. About the time it start ringing intermittently, the mj has already sent them to voicemail and i have to call them back. This continue to occur all the time . I have tried go online for help and the technician has tried numerous things that dont work, and i still have the problem. I tried to update the mj but it still dont do anygood. I am afraid to give anybody my number since it is becoming a hassle to keep calling someone back. I am going to try that new company that mj hates because evidently it works well. Dont buy magicjack cause you will have a headache and they dont have a phone number for customer service which means they have something to hide. Mj is reaping what it is sowing it will be bankrupt by next year!

first unit worked a lil/2nd YES butbilling is out of control
First unit a bought way last year (2-4-1 price) second unit went to my son.
first unit was NEVER working correctly after about two months. It's
phone number was a/c 805-876-337o. It has not preformed at all for mo.s
I am not a complainer so I realized I may have had just a bad unit. I still
needed the system because my phone is just for senior citizens that need
a phone for medical reasons and they charge me less than ten dollars a mo.
The only way I can talk to outsiders (out of my immediate primary area
on the phone) is to use other peoples phone which is not exceptable. So
seeing another add on TV for magic jack I bit the bullet an ordered another. Late last year I ordered again I had purchased a Dell computer used from a neighbor and believed
it would work better than what I.d been using /a Sony Laptop/ Now I'm
getting billed It came with a different phone number A/C 805-876-3233 abig inconvenience---but thats the way of the world
I'd tried to contact MJ offices BUT that a big BUTT, and they don<t have
phone service for their customers, no way of complaining. If I was a WHIZ at the computer maybe but I, M not. Now I.m getting billed just this month for JAN@Feb up to the 15th $6.95; $39.95; $3.00; and $10.

world? My eyesight is somewhat limited so please call me back on my
