I bought my first flatscreen from Magnavox. It was a 37" model and a BIG mistake! At about 1 year it was hard to get it to power up without a lot of effort. This got progressively worse so we left it on at all times to avoid the hassle. Then one day the power went out and that was it. The tv lasted not quite 2 years. After viewing this site it appears that we are not alone. I don't understand this. They put out pieces of crap like this, won't recall because of the expense but will risk the loyalty of their customer...A friend and I went down together to buy our new sets because they were on sale for $700. The set was an off brand and my friend bought his. I was wary and saw a Magnavox of the same size but for $100 more and bought it. To make a long story short my friend is still enjoying his with no problems while mine was nothing but trouble. ...If they are gambling so be it but I will never buy another Magnavox and will tell anyone that will listen not to buy one!
