money owed
I have signed up for a 3 months membership. A week later I filled out a form not to be automatically renewed, at that point my membership was cancelled and I cannot log in into my account. Match.com still owes me a 3 months membership fee.

match.com
Warning everyone Match permanently keeps your profile and credit card information indefinately even though your profile maybe hidden they chose not to give you that option to take your information and delete it..I think it is a violation of privacy and I scream HIPPA...dont use them unless you want them to have access..and also back on 2004 scam artist approached me from nigeria asking for money..but here it is 2011 and they keep your personal information..

UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD BILLING
I have been on/off match for several years and most recently have run into a HUGE issue of them claiming I unsubscribed (which I did) then learned several months later they have been billing my credit card at the same amount as signed-up for previously. I had happened accross acharge on my credit card several days after the renewel. Called match.com spoke to Michelle and Theresa (these girls are the sweetest things anyone could hire) they were very king and gracious about my circumstances BUT, under NO circumstances would they refund ANY of my money, with ONLY 2 days into the renewel. I explained to them I have been unsubscribed since May, 2010 and they claimed they have been billing me the entire duration (unbenounced to me)! I requested a copy of my credit card statements and sure enough I have over $300 of unauthorized charges, and moreover, new used their services! Michelle then tells me that I am currently subscribed, I then knew they were operating a con operation. Match.com is able to reinstate, or subscribe a member from their location and especially because they have our credit card on file!!! I never, ever, received any message as I do with car payments, auto insurance, mortage alerts, from match.com. There is no email for confirmation of payments - zero! They do this on purpose to make money unethically from their members. I asked Michele if the economy has created this dishonesty and unethical billing practices from match? Michelle very sweetly denied it. After learning I was resubscribed AGAIN, I went to the area "my account" I then TRIED to unsubscibe, they request you provide a reason for unsubscribing, you must chose a reason to move to the next question. I said I could not afford this and no longer was interested in on-line dating. A automated response stated that after the renewel period ran out in June, I would then be billed at a lesser amount of $29.99 for the next 3 months after that. There unsubscribe process does NOT allow one to unsubscribe. I contacted the BBB and my credit card company; they are fighting this last charge but, suggests I take them to small claims court for the charges that have spanned over several months that I was unaware of. If you have had a similar experience I highly suggest you file a complaint with the BBB. The more people that do, the better our case.

unauthorised payment
I cancelled my subscription and account and have not been on the site since but found a transaction on my Paypal account of £119.34 on the 18th April - My bank confirm that this transaction was carried out on 16th April at 2200hrs which is when I was at work with no access to the website - I am seriously not happy with Match.com as like a lot of people money is tight at the moment and I literally have to count and account for every penny of my wages!

Don't waste your money...it is a rip-off
Match.com doesn't screen its members. My daughter was setup with a man who pretended to be Jim Jones an Italian American from Seattle. He was really a Nigerian Scam artist who joined for the free three day membership and asked my daughter to contact him by instant messenger and e-mail his name is [email protected]. He sent her love letter but hardly ever talked to her on the phone until he went on a mad eup business trip to UK and then call trying to scam her out of $6400 saying he lost his wallet. These scumbags need to be stopped.

If you are stupid enough to use Match then make sure your match is not on a temporary membership. I have found in different chat rooms numerous scams using match. These creeps are praying on religious people. They use that BS quoting "God this and God that" to get you to believe them.

You need to use E-Harmony at least they scan their members. I meet my husband on e-harmony and we are married for 6 years now. My daughter tried to contact Match.com but they didn't even care.

Don't waste your money...it is a rip-off. You need to use a dating service that is reputable. Most of my friends met someone and got married on e-harmony. It is a wonderful website.

Scamming Money Again
I joined match.com for 3 months and when I went to cancel they offered me a special of 3 months for the price of 1 month to stay as a member, so I decided that I would give it another try. I did not have good luck the first time, but thought that perhaps my life circumstances were preventing me from using their services and would give it another shot. Just before my next 3 months were over, I logged into my account that I had not been using because of time constraints and other factors to cancel once again. I had another offer of staying for 3 more months for the price of 1 month and declined this time know that I did not want to be a member even if they paid me to be one.

I was very diligent about making sure that this cancelation went through as I have had 2 other girlfriends get raked over the coals by them in the past and had hundreds of dollars deducted from their accounts due to forgetting to cancel. They tried to get their money back as they were both in serious relationships and did not know of the policy that they were going to automatically renew if they did not physically go into their account and cancel themselves. The company is so shady that not only did they neglect to process my cancelation when I asked them to do so, they proceeded to take $50.98 out of my bank account that I was slowing starting to close and had very limited funds in it.

I got a notice from my bank for an overdraft and I was furious as I have never ever in my entire 35 years on this earth bounced a check or had to use overdraft protection. I called match.com and did get my $50.98 but after numerous calls numerous times, they refused to issue me a check for the $22 my bank charged me. I am very upset at the fact that match.com is scamming people out of their hard earned money. If I were on a very strict budget and needed that $22, then I could have had other financial difficulties paying my bills.

Match.com has become so greedy that they cannot even pay for trying to scam me out of my money. The said “it was a technical glitch in the system and had happened to others”. They refused to give me the overdraft fee from my bank and told me to call my bank and ask them to remove it. It is not fair that I had to spend my time calling them numerous times waiting on hold for long periods of time and talking to their incompetent employees let alone pick up the phone one more time and tell my bank that I was requesting they pay for match.com being a scammer.

Please beware before signing up with match.com. They need to do some serious quality control and get a grip on reality when they are the ones that made the “mistake”. Then think of all of the people that don’t notice the glitch or just suck up the fees for lack of time or other reasons. Match.com is scamming people and they need to stop. Beware. Don’t use their services. They will try and rob your money any way they can.
