rip off
My daughter was diagnoised with ADHD. She is 5 years old and we started this process when she turned 4 years old. We have been through counselling and behavior modifications and extensive testing and she is now 5 years old and the doctor feels it is safe for her to be on vyvanse now and medco will not cover this medication because of her age. They told me that the pre-authorization was denied because she is 5 and this medicine is recommended for 6 and older. I didn't realize that medco employees went to medical school and are doctors. If her doctor says it is ok and we are taking all the precautions with EKG and blood work, who are they to say the doctor is wrong and she can't have this medicine. Medco says they are not saying i can't get it for her but i would have to pay out of pocket for it and it cost $200.00/month, that i don't have. That is why i pay a monthly premium, co-pay and deductible so they would cover whatever the doctor prescribes. My daughter tries her hardest to not hurt other kids and scream and fuss but she can not control these impluses, she cries to us and says she wants to go live with jesus so she won't get in trouble anymore. And yet this company is telling us what she needs and what she doesn't need. maybe i should let her stay with whoever denied this claim for a day or so, i can guantee they would change their mind. I love my daughter to death and just want to get her the help she needs and this company does NOT care.
