I had recently moved to a new city, and was finding it difficult to find employment. The Mergis Group stated they had a temp-to-perm position available. I took the job. The next thing I know, I am receiving notice from the company that all 21 temps were getting their contracts cancelled. I asked, well why, after we have all worked here for so long are you not hiring anyone on permanently. My supervisor responded, well, this is just a temp position, we do not hire permanently in this position. That was the first impossible situation I had to deal with. Then this crack addict that worked with me decided to threaten to stab me. Since there was no supervisor on site, I called security. My staffing agent called me the next day, yelling at me and fired me. I did nothing to that girl, but was told that calling security was too extreme and I could not continue employment with the agency. So, I go to file unemployment just to find out that they reported all my wages to the wrong state. The Mergis Group should not be allowed to be in business.
