Seems the NAPW has made it here to erase two years of complaints against their fraudulent practices. Ladies, google National Association of Professional Women complaints. You'll get a nice assortment of sites reporting on their scam operation. Good luck!

This is the most fraudulent company I have ever been taken by. I was swindled. You send in for a free membership then they call you, interview you, then flatter you with how you are so "accomplished in your field." After all of that they hit you with a large membership fee. In my case it was just under $500 with an additional fee in a couple of weeks of $189. I was so confused and while my brain was trying to process the information I found myself giving them my credit card number. I NEVER do that! This was a real brain-twist and I fell for it. Immediately I felt buyers remorse and tried to call and cancel. Of course I couldn't get through. I called the next day and talked to "Craig" who is just about as unpleasant as a person can get; he chastised me for not paying attention to the details and how could I "think this was a free membership." He denied my ability to call others on the local chapter list even though I gave him specific instructions how I DID find those women on the NAPW website! He also denied complaints on this website even though I quoted several of the complaints and how he is named frequently. I told him I called the NY Attorney General office. The next day he and his "manager" decided they would refund all of my money. I threatened that if he didn't follow through I would pursue him to the full extent of the law. So far today I don't see a refund on my credit card but my bank says it may come through next Mon. or Tues. We'll see. I have my paper work filled out for the attorney general's office and encourage others to do the same. We need to get them stopped. Too many of us hard working women are falling for this. We're not stupid we just are focused on how good the NAPW will look on our credentials. Phooey.

I received a card to say that I was selected to join in this supposed awesome organization for free and am now not getting any responses when called asking for a refund. I feel as if I have been scammed but good. I want my refund, as I am a small business person who really does not have the money to pay for this and I have clearly been wronged by them.

Like all the complaints that I have read on this site, I also received in the mail a card for a free membership with "no financial" obligation from the National Association of Professional Women. I thought "what do I have to lose?", and so I filled out the card and sent it on its merry way. About 2 1/2 weeks ago I received a phone call from a lady at NAPW. She asked if I had time to talk to her regarding questions with my membership. I said that I did not have time at the moment since I was driving, it was raining and I was on my way to meet a client. She sounded put out that I declined to speak with her at the time but she did finally say that she would call again.

She never called again. Then last week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday a man (I won't even say gentleman) named Craig called and left rude messages on my phone saying "I'm calling you again regarding your membership." First of all it was Thanksgiving week and I was very busy and second of all I was tired of these phone calls from an organization in which I had a "free membership".

Then, over the weekend I received a "black packet" in the mail from the NAPW. Inside was a card for a Premier Membership and a bill for $489.00. I was floored to say the least! On Monday while at work I got a phone call from Craig at the NAPW and I decided to take the call. He said some pleasantries of which I was having none of and then said, "I hear you have some questions regarding your membership?" I said that I didn't have any questions regarding my free membership but I had questions regarding why I received a bill for $489.00. He then became extremely agitated and rude. He said, "I don't understand! You spoke with someone and ordered the Premier Membership! We have the conversation recorded!" I, not so eloquently, told him to play the tape to me and throughout the call I kept saying "play the tape". Let me hear it...Play it! He stopped mentioning the taped call after that but then he says "we have all your personal information and you VISA card". First of all, the only personal information that he could have is the information that I filled out from the "card". Secondly, seeing as how the only conversation I have ever had with these jokers is to say that now is not a good time to talk, I have never given them, nor would I, my credit card number. Craig then said that someone answered this number and pretended to be me and ordered the "Premier Membership". Like heck someone did since it is my cell phone and since I can prove through my phone records that I never had a longer conversation with anyone from a (516) area code that lasted longer than 30 sec - 1 min aside from the very verbal fight I had with Craig last night.

I am on my way to the police department to file a formal complaint for identity theft since they claim to have all my personal information, which is a huge threat in my book, as well as a restraining order. If they have any information it is not from me and they acquired it through fraudulent means.
