Eddie McKeown of Northeastern Inc. installed a gas furnace 11/17/10. Contracted to give me 92, 000 BTU, but installed smaller, cheaper model without telling me. Inspected my existing system and stated in contract that price included hook-up to existing ductwork. On day of install, he brought a sheet metal person RNS a.k.a. R&S) from his neighborhood with him unbeknownst to me. Sheet metal man performed unauthorized work, as I was not even home when the work was done. Eddie McKeown also installed a new evaporator coil on the same day. He evacuated the refrigerant from my air conditioning system without using a recovery machine, as required by law. He never reconnected the evaporator coil back to my condensor and he never replaced the refrigerant. So, basically I had a central air conditioning system that worked perfectly BEFORE Eddie worked on my system...and now, I have an air conditioning system that does not work. I filed complaints with Suffolk County Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau and lastly, with the Town of Islip. Now I find out neither Eddie McKeown nor Northeastern Inc. do not even have a plumber's license to do work in the Town of Islip. I am still trying to get all this fixed. All and all...this was the worst experience I ever had with an HVAC company. I would NOT recommend Eddie McKeown or Northeastern Inc. to anybody...
