Optical Shop of Nyack is a very chic store with a beautiful selection of eyewear frames. The service is also quite professional and friendly. So what's the complaint - glasses broke and the store would not repair. The owner accepts some eye insurance, mine included. After applying the insurance to the frames and the discounts to the lenses I still had to pay $550. No problem as I am more than willing to pay for "service";however when my "SHATTER PROOF" lenses actually SHATTERED 2 months after purchase, the owner told me there was nothing that she could do to correct the situation. When I reminded her that these were shatter proof she said "well not really". "If you drop them and they shatter how could we be responsible". How preposterous! I guess the shatter proof only applies while the glasses are on your face?
