My husband and I own two half acre lots joining, we are trying to get a standard septic system put on the property so we can eventually move on it. We were told 11 years ago when we bought it that we could put a septic on each lot, since then some one decided that a septic can't be put on an acre that you need 2 acres. We feel that there should be a grandfather law permiting us to put a standard septic system on our property. We are on a fixed income and cannot affort the alternate system which we should not be forced into. Some one said the ordinance was passed in Dec 2006 and enforced beginning Jan 2007. As we live out of state we were unaware of this. It is our understanding that there is a law suit against Luna County for this very thing. We would be happy to join this law suit if possible, unless we get satisafaction on this matter. We don't need any more land. We only need a standard septic system for a 3 bedroom home.
