I have taken a flat on rent in Navi Mumbai through a property broker. I have given 1.5 month brokerage at the time of possession. The rent agreement was made and everything was done. Now after 11 months when the rent agreement is about to expire and need renewal, my broker is asking again for 1 month brokerage. I got shocked hearing this. but he says this is a regular practice for them.

I never seen before a broker taking periodic brokerage every time the agreement renews. It is never communicated to me and nowhere written. Broker is now asking me either to vacate the house or pay the brokerage again.

I am still not sure if this is illegal or not but i feel cheated by them. Please suggest me what to do?
