rude deli worker
very pretentious and rude deli worker. Female who was just rude and weird. It was closing and she took a long time...and was going really slow. She was asking me to repeat something many times plus keep asking "this--u want this? want this?? do u Want this"?? very rude...then to top it off she made the sandwich wrong and forgot ingredients...then wanted to redo the entire sandwich...just a bad attitude...sometimes at that location the deli workers can be really bad and rude...for no reason

Employee Rudeness and harrasment
I live close to this Publix and shop there several tmes per week, for the last few times I've shopped there one of there employees. Ted Olmstead assist. Meat Manger has been very rude to me, very angry looks. And the last few times he has followed me around the store giving me dirty looks. Well I don't know what he is thinking, but that is very unusual treament, if he thinks I did something, then let him say or make an accursation. Then I can hire an atorney to sue.

part timers working full time??
Hello! Me again, , I see this happening time and time again... Part time workers, , , working 40 hours, but that are not full timers and are told they CAN NOT get full time... I KNOW, from witnessing this in stores.. There are part time workers who have been with our company for many years who want full time, don't get it, but are getting 40 hours every other week...Why is that??.. I've even heard stories from a couple of employees, deptment managers telling a part timer they have full time WHEN IT WAS A LIE... THEY JUST HAD 40 HOURS, BUT IT WASN'T IN THE SYSTEM AS A FULL TIME EMPLOYEE... FACTS.. WHAT IS GOING ON??? PUBLIX CAN BE A BETTER PLACE TO WORK, , OR, , NOT A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE OF YOU (SUPERVISORS) ... MR. GEORGE WOULDN'T HAVE LET THIS HAPPEN...

Bad treatment from manager
I shopped at this Publix and my bill came to $126.10. I was busy entering my credit card information when an employee started assisting the cashier. I had already put much of the groceries in bags. I left the store and when I got to my car I noticed the 4 Roll package of Kleenex Viva Paper Towels was missing. I backtracked to the store with my cart. I told the cashier and the employee that helped told me she put them on the bottom rack of the shopping cart. I explained that they were not in my car and I looked all over the entire path I had taken. She got the manager.

I waited for the manager, Kelly Ortman who went back into the office and came back to tell me I left with the paper towels. I explained that they were missing and that the assistant stuck them on the bottom rack where heavy items like bottled water or Pet Food goes. A light, slippery 4 pack of paper towels may have fallen off, I didn't hear anything and I had already covered the path I had taken to my car. At this point she basically told me that I left the store with the item and there is nothing she can do about it, she was not pleasant about this.

I offered to show them my car to prove that I was no some thief trying to get another 6 dollar package of paper towels. I don't think I've ever made a complaint before but it was the principle and the amount of time I spent going back and forth looking for it. I went back to my car one more time and then back into the store and bought another package, waited in line and went one more time to the service desk to ask if anyone turned them in. At this point they were ignoring me so I asked for the store number: 0756 and the name of the manager. They told me "Kelly" and when I asked for a last name they rolled their eyes and told me,

To add insult to injury, when I arrived home and started carrying the bags, 2 of them broke open because the assistant had stuck 2 gallon water bottles in one flimsy bag. Very bad service and nasty attitude from the manager. I guess the "Customer is always wrong" at Publix in Jupiter.

Publix going down hill!
Agree 100 percent, This company is losing Mr. George Jenkins VALUES! class action lawsuit... count me in...even them white tokens??? huh, what happen? that was the old publix way of sayin thinks for a job well done and handing it to us the workers..., now no more??? why??? we, who work there are the OWNERS right?? isnt that what they told us when we got hired?? Oh yes, I remember that, they even gave us lunch in that training room... Poor Mr. George, WHAT WOULD HE DO????... I myself, have been with Publix for 8 years, , worked in 4 deptments, , had my hourly pay rate not put in 3 times, had to get 2 years worth of back pay, , vacation time not put in twice, cleaning and cleaning deli's, working overnite scrubbing floors, , doing manager duties, , u name it, took tests to become a manager made the list but never got picked... O YES, WHAT WOULD MR. GEORGE DO??? HE BELIEVED PEOPLE CAME FIRST... looks like Albertsons people got a good deal, , with promotions...

No pleasure to work for
Back in the day I worked for Publix as a cashier and quickly worked my way up to the front office. Back then treating all employees with respect and fairness was high on Mr. Jenkins list.

Recently Publix went to a Pay for Performance policy as a way to save money and ***-out poor performers. Now senior citizens who work for Publix are expected to keep up with teenagers. The result is a cut in their paychecks. Have you ever noticed how many older employees there are at your Publix? Surprised that this has not been challenged in a courtroom as a Class Action Discrimination Suit. Long term older employees can't be expected to work at the same pace as younger employees.

No Publix employee is really safe. What's to say if you rub any manager the wrong way, that you will not receive a low evaluation even if you are a top performer? What if managers are able to increase their bonuses by keeping employee wages down due to this pay system? This could be wide open for abuse.

The Distribution Warehouses have also been hit with this greedy, I mean cost-saving idea. Workers are expected to work at super-human levels in order to keep within VERY strict time limits. Fall below your time quota and you are given a choice to resign or be fired.

But wait, there's more, if too many employees are able to make their quota the time limit is shortened so that those employees are paid less for their higher performance. I know this for a fact since it happened to a family member. Not only is this practice unfair it also puts their employees in danger. Having workers race around a warehouse full of racks, product, carts, pallets, pallet jacks and forklifts etc... is an accident waiting to happen and perhaps a lawsuit, too.

Talk about poor employee relations! Looks to me like the spirit and values of George Jenkins are no longer with Publix. I have decided to take my business elsewhere and so have many of my friends and relatives.

Bad customer service
I have never had a problem at a publix that the manager couldn't take care of. All you aholes out there - GET A LIFE!!! - STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE FOR YOUR OWN CRAPPY BEHAVIORS. I don't how many times ( but it is/was many) that I have to hear one of you complain about nothing, and argue to the manager as if it is the manager's fault. Go and yell at what really made you mad - not the store employees. Don't park your car in the the no parking zone, don't woory about the rain - you won't melt, better yet stey in your car and wait for it stop or use an umbrella! Stop arguing about a prodcut that didn't sell, and you were the only one buying it, complained about the price, and wonder why the store doesn't carry it anymore! MOVE ON!!

Meat Department
I went to Publix yesterday and was purchasing some meat. First I noticed that the butcher was not wearing gloves to package the meat. I got his attention and on his way over to me he pushed a cart out of the way, closed a box and turn the pages of the pricing book and return to packaging his meat. I found this to be disturbing because after he was finished with all of that he returned to handling the meat without washing his hands. Now I love Publix and was very disappointed with the practice of not washing your hands or wearing gloves when handling meat. After letting the store manager know what I just witnessed and letting him know how grossed out I was, he told me that "in the butcher's defense, the FDA approves not using gloves when handling meat!!! And if the meat is cooked at the right temperature, everything should be fine." I don't think the FDA approves the practices between packaging meat and returning to it without washing your hands. I will not be purchasing meats packaged by Publix anymore...

Everyone is not treated equal
IV'E BEEN WORKING FOR PUBLIX FOR SEVERAL YEARS ONE OF THE BEST PLACES I'VE EVER WORKED. UNFORTUNATLY SOME THINGS ARE VERY UNFAIR. If I was black it would be great but I'm white. white people have to go by publix rules while all blacks do not. I don't understand I thought all people were created egual but It seems its not.I see black women with finger nails 1 to 2 inches long. let a white lady try this they would be suspended. black men have long braids and dont't shave If I tried this I wouldn't have A job or be suspended.so even though I can"t say much because I really need my job.why can't we be all be treated egualrules are rules''' treat us all the same''
