DSL phoney plan sign-up
Qwest emplyees went door to door in Denver calling on existing Qwest DSL customers offering to increase the speed and lower the price. I found it hard to believe so I got it in writing. When the bill came the price was higher than what was promised. I called Qwest and they informed me that no such plan existed. I asked why they were selling it door to door if it didn't exist and they said why don't you ask the person who sold it to you. So I called her and she said she had sold the same plan to hundreds of other Qwest customers and that Qwest routinely denied that the plan existed. CBS aired a segment on the evening news exposing Qwest and they denied it but were confronted with the fact that I had it in writing and they claimed it was an isolated error. Ever since the story aired a woman at Qwest who was angered by my action has added false charges to my bill every month as a means of harrasment and every month I have to have it corrected which is a one hour phone call. I'd like to start a class action law suit. If you are a Qwest customer and have experienced the same, please contact me so we can pursue poosible joint action aagainst this devious company! Heinus service
In November of 2007 I entered into a 2-year cell contract with Qwest for $25 per month guaranteed for life. A year later Qwest sends notice that they are RENEGING on THEIR contract and quitting the cell phone business. On April 4, 2009 I called Q to changes some services, spent 3.5 hours on the phone, was HUNG UP ON 3 TIMES, didn't get anything done and basically ruined my day. I committed to quitting them for good. Now I'm trying to port my cell number to another carrier and they're playing 3rd grader games like telling the new carrier my SSN is not correct, claiming their system is down, just basic childish retalitory measures over 5 days. I closed all Qwest services and will probably not pay the final bill. In a day and age where there is VOIP phone service, Magic Jacks etc., the phone companies are fast becoming dinosaurs and better realise that the public is not forced to do business with them to have phone service, and $35 landline service is a thing of the past. Bye Bye Qwest, SBC, AT&T and similar thieves, you'll soon be out of commission. Better start thinking like Kodak and innovate instead of thinking that HIGHER PRICES will help keep you afloat.

Worst service ever
I own a real estate brokerage in Phoenix, AZ. I have had Cox Service for business at my old office for 2 years, which was great and well worth the prices they charged. I recently changed offices and was forced to take Qwest at the new office. Worst Service EVER!!!
Qwest is way more expensive than cox. Their service sucks. They were charging me 69.99/mo for 5mb internet and my speed is around 1mb. I got 1.5mb from Cox for 19.99/mo.
My first bill was $264.73 This included a bunch of charges for items I was told was included with the one year contract I signed. Here is the kicker... if i dispute the unjust charges they report me a paying late. They think it is fair to pay the bill and if they find the charges unjust they will refund the money at a later date. Sorry Qwest I don't play like that!
Anyone who has the choice between Cox or Qwest. Go Cox and save yourself a ton of money, headache and time.
Qwest, I am counting down the days until you go out of business!

Unauthorized billing
Be careful if you decide to leave Qwest. We'd been customer for over 10 years who never had a late payment. We decided to drop our land line and use our cell phones. Qwest mad this difficult. I've talked to about 10 people trying to clear up an overpayment they're billing us. Now they are threatening us with a collection agency. Talk about deceitful practices...

Charge for "nothing".
Have had Qwest for at least 15yrs. Had 3rd party long distance with Windstream. Never use it, don't need long distance anymore, so I canceled with Windstream. Now QWEST charged me for canceling with Windstream. It has NOTHING to do with QWEST. An extra $8.95 ontop my bill because why?
Waiting for my alarm company to call back about putting a cell-block in place of the land-line as I find that $40 for basic phone service with NO perk add-ons is a total QWEST SCAM! Looking at thier website they 'advertise' basic service at around $14, THIS IS A TOTAL OUTRIGHT LIE! You cannot get just this service, they charge EXTRA if you don't "bundle" services. You can get it - yes - IF YOU also subscribe to thier crummy internet and/or thier 3rd party resold cell service. Either way they are going to get you for more than thier share of Benjamins.
The one I loved - "We will give it to you for 6-Months free". Watch out for that scam. Ask them this - "how much to then STOP the service if I am unhappy?" or "how much is it AFTER the 6-months?" Watch your back, I asked because I am not getting suckered. Don't get fooled!
Why would anyone have them as a provider unless you have an alarm or such that requires a physical land-line? What I dish out to QWEST for basic phone now is MORE than my cell phone with every feature imaginable that I never use nor would want. QWEST you fail! Keep it up and you will be next in-line to the 'Save Me Obama Handout Party'.

Worst Service EVER
Qwest is the absolute poorest excuse for Communications I have EVER seen! I live in Clarkston, WA, which is a town across the river from Lewiston, ID, which Qwest classifies as a "Border Town". I had a SIMPLE request. All I wanted was a residential Phone line with internet. Simple enough, right? WRONG! I spent an hour on the phone each day for 3 days (using up my entire lunch hour at work each time) just trying to get somebody to put an order in. YOu see, because Clarkston is a "Border Town" I couldn't just simply hook up service. Nor could anyone I talked to at their center help me or figure out HOW to even put an order in! One of these times I tried to get 'Hooked up", I was given two 800 #'s to call. One of the 800 #'s was a DIRECT TV # and another, a Qwest REPAIR # !!! Finally I got "John" in Tucson, AZ who submitted a "handwritten" order. He told me he'd personally submit it. Since I had no phone # for them to contact me (OBVIOUSLY, this is why I was trying to get it set up) "John" told me to give a certain 800 a call in a few days to get my new phone # and see that it went through. Ok...SO...I called a few days later. The lady who answered checked and they had NO RECORD of me in their system at all! After wasting about 5 hours total of my life over about 2-3 weeks, I was back at square one. I am now happily telling my story and asking everyone who reads this to spread the word about this "quality" service. I actually worked for this company years ago when they were US WEST...before Qwest bought the company and the service went from already shaky to abyssmal!

everything
We moved and decided to go with qwest, mainly for Sunday ticket. It took numerous phone call just to get the three services ordered, phone, internet, and DirectTV. After finally getting all services ordered, it took three weeks just to get our phone number ported over. Finally we had all services ordered and working and then the first bill came. That was a nightmare in it self. I had to call after receiving a bill every month for seven months to get the bill right. The phone service was changed numerous times in order to find the best option and cheapest service possible.
Later we had to move and were still in contract with DirectTV and qwest for the three services. We would have moved our services to our new residence, yet they did not provide internet at our new location. We decided to cancel the three services. Qwest did not charge a cancellation fee, because they do not provide the service(discussed many time with customer service), yet we have to pay $75.oo to cancel with DirectTV, even though we had the three together to save money. We have received many calls from DirectTV about equipment that they are charging us for, even though they received it all ready. Now we got a bill from qwest about canceling our service. I called many, many times to make sure that this would not be a problem. Customer service is absolutely terrible and only open when everyone is working. I will get this all resolved, but the amount of time that I have spent dealing with qwest makes me feel more knowledgeable about them than their reps. I am so glad to be out from under their services. If you are even thinking of switching to qwest, I would recommend doing anything but that, even if it may cost a little more. I hate qwest.

Scam charges
Beware of unknown charges from a company called ESBI or ORBIT TELECOM. I received a charge of $14.95 from a company called ESBI on my Qwest Bill. If you call ESBI, they will not help you, they will refer you to your telephone provider. This is the second month in a row that I've spent at least an hour trying to resolve these charges. Qwest promised to credit my bill and also promised this would not appear on my bill again however next month I received another charge of $14.95 plus a late charge of $14.95. I have been on conference calls with both ESBI (Orbit Telecom) and Qwest twice and this is after being disconnected twice by Qwest while waiting to speak with a manager. Once I found someone to help me, I insisted on a 3 party call with ORBIT TELECOM. Initially Orbit Telecom said a refund check was issued to me however I mentioned that I did not pay the service fee and have no intention of paying so then she checked her records and Qwest piped in stating they would credit my bill. So here we go again one hour later, a promise to credit my bill $29.50 and this time I got a confirmation number from Obrit Telecom. Good Luck if this happens to you. My recommendations are a) Get names and confirmation numbers b) Call back an hour later to see if the notes are in your file and that in fact the confirmation number has been included c) Use another provider if the option is available.
