Raleigh Orthopaedic is knowingly sending out incorrect bills to patients. They have advised me that when they switched over to electronic billing with BC/BS, the system does not correctly register the payments, and they are billing patients for money that RO has already received from the insurance provider. They are aware of this computer glitch, but have made the decision to send out the bills anyway, even though they know they are wrong. If a patient calls to complain, they will "adjust the bill by hand". Patients of Raleigh Orthopaedic need to be made aware of this problem. Check your bills carefully. Raleigh Orthopaedic should suspend their billing until this computer glitch can be resolved, or they should verify the bills manually before sending them out if they know they are wrong.
