harrasment
i am late paying my rent a center bill and they have called me over 15 times in one day, i told them i was at work i would call them when i got off they insisted on calling me inregards to me telling them i was at work. so the next day happening to be a saturday they showed up at my door at 8:54 bagging saying they was going to take legal actions cause i broke my rental agreement. oh whoopi do i could give 2 flyn F*cks. so they finally went away after 20 long minutes of bagging and talking sh*t they left... so 2 days later my boyfriend was gone and i was at work he comes home and relizes my peep hole lense is missing out of my door now thats straight harrasment, and to top it off they had called my phone by accident and didnt realize i had answered my phone and i heard 2 of the guys talking about me. they said if my side door wasnt locked they would have found a way to get inside of my apartment i wish i had a tape recorder. smdh

poor service, bad products
I purchased some furniture from rent-a-center cash and carry. not rented. the items were listed as-is. I made an agreement with the manager that if I bought a sofa, loveseat, table, chair and a dryer they would deliver it all free of charge. when I got the sofa and loveseat there wasn't any legs. the manager said he will get them for me and he's sorry. 5 weeks later and given a few stories and left countless messges I called the corporate office. that same day I recieved a call from someone at the keyser avenue...scranton store saying that they'll deliver the legs to me and put them on. I made an appointment for today, thursday 3-3-2011. they told me they're on their way 3 1/2 hours ago and I live less than a mile away.

Rip off
Went to RAC for two items. I was in an auto accident and waiting for settlement monies. I made the payments on time. Never late...called in October 2010 and asked for the payoff. Was told $900. I asked is this the total exactly? Yes. I again asked if I made my $50 payment I would subtract and owe them $850. Yes. I was talking to the store manager. So I called on December 23, 2010 and was told the payoff was $400. Again, confirmed by the store manager. I then again asked to make my $50 payment I would owe $350.
So, January 3rd I called and said I want to pay off the $350 I owe. Oh, I was told, the new store manager is here. So he comes on the phone and tells me the old store manager was wrong and I owe $800! I said no, I was told a week ago, I owed $350. Sorry I was told pay the $800 or they would come and get the merchandise. I also asked for an itemized breakdown and was denied a statement of my account.
So, I paid it off. Plan to file with the SC Attorney General. Rent a Center is a scam!!

Bullsh*t delivery
Well to the "proud RAC" worker maybe u should instill your workmanship on over to the employees in Sacramento. I rented a tv last Fri, didn't recieve it till the next Thurs 3 1/2hrs later than promised time. The delivery guys forgot the bolts or something, said first thing the next am he'll hook it up. I called them at noon, said it won't be till 1pm...waited and waited. Called a few times, nothing but excuses...here it is 10:30pm and no fricken tv for me n my family to watch!! They want me to be ontime with my payments, maybe they should be ontime with their 100% satisfaction guarantee promise! Fricken Troy Aikmen said it himself LMAO...

Crooks
Ive been loyal customer for 5 years, in denver, co. Never missed a payment. Well as soon as i did miss a payment these clowns are on you like flies on Caca. Another problem i did have was a recently leased a mattress set, well a couple of months passed and this cheap knockoff mattress caved in, no im not heavy set, needless to say i called them. Their response was to get me a used replacement mattress, now isnt that some bullshit. Well to all of you consumers go to Aarons they are cheaper and they will work with you...!

No problems
Joe Ayala at Rent A Center is the store manager in Reading PA. We went through rough times the past couple months, financially, and Joe was patient, understanding...And he also helped us get back until we can get back on our feet. (Not pushy) I recommend Rent A Center. We have rented from RAC for a few years and everyone in the store has been awesome. Any business who does not receive their money, especially in this type of business, must pick up merchandise. So before anyone gets 'pissed" call the store, they work with you.

Delivery sucks ass
Ok so my husband n I decided to get a tv thru them, this being the first time going to a rent to own place like this...BIG MISTAKE! We signed papers on a Fri, they said they'll deliver the next Thurs. They ended up arriving 3 1/2hrs after the promised time at 7:30pm, no courtesy call or anything, I had to call them! Then the guy setting up the tv don't have the bolts or whatever. He said we'll be the first one they stop at the next morning, So I call the next day at noon, they promised around 1pm. 2:30 rolls around n I call again. Nothing but excuse after excuse...Waited n waited...Well here we are on Saturday n the tv is still sitting on the floor not being used by my family. Come on guys, you guys want your payments n shit on time, at least have good customer service!! Bring my shit n set it up on time!!!

Rude Service
I rented from the Jamestown rent a center for quite awhile. I went thru some hours reductions at work and had a death in the family. I called them to let them know i need to return my items i could not afford to catch up or keep up with payments. They talked me into keeping the items and work with me. We we gave it a try but did not work out. Decided to return everything. Well now back to work and hours back up to par i decided to walk into the Jamestown ny store and re rent a laptop. Well i sttod there for 15 minutes not even a hello may we help you, they know me by name. So i walk up to the counter and first thing out of one of the mouths of one of the reps is we cannot rent to you for past history. My issue isnt the policy of not renting my issue was they were rude enough to treat me like i was a piece of crap and ignore me, Pretty much walked out in disgust. So i called the main office and filed a complaint. Didn't do a damn thing for me not that i want it to i would not rent from them if they gave me a year free in rent payments. Rent a center... Kiss my A**

unfair manager
Today I went to make payment regular manager was not there the man there was not taking my payment unless I had full payment I have been paying catch up he said I need to turn in my tv I have been paying late at times but I also brought every item there I have a computer I payed out it still dosen't work correctly its been more in the shop than used I have it insured it comes back the same why can't it be replaced I have payed an arm and a leg. Santiago regular manager has worked with me but to day was the last straw I will lose money but Im tired of getting jerked around by the repair shop and now Im almost finishpaying my tv but I will lose it let it be it but I want justice done on the computer.I got the lcd tv one year ago I hope the manager tonite can get removed Regualar manager Santiagio is the best.

evicted tenant
As a landlord, we have to evict tenants on occasion. On two separate occasions we have had to deal with this company because the tenants rented from them. We have always followed the law when it comes to our evictions and by law we are required to remove all possessions after an eviction is completed and a sheriff has removed the the tenants from the property. After a certain amount of time, if the property is not picked up, it is moved to the curb or the landlord may keep, sell or basically do whatever he/she wishes with it. Well, Rent a Center went to one of our properties and harassed our new tenants after being told that the person they had a contract with no longer lived there. They were told that the property they were looking for was not there and was asked to vacate the property. Instead of leaving the property, they proceeded to pull their truck onto the lawn and called the police on our tenants and told the police that the tenants were in possession of stolen property! Needless to say our tenants were very upset by this. The company was told that the the person no longer lived there. That should have been the end of it. They should have left and tried to get in contact with the person they had the contract with, Or call us. our tenants should not have had to deal with this. This company needs to realize that when a person is evicted from a property, it is not the landlords responsibility to know that a tenant is renting from them and what they have rented after a eviction has taken place. They DO NOT have the right to harass new tenants! Landlords beware. This company wit try and hold you responsible and harass your new tenant.
