I am extremely unhappy with Sears Carpet cleaning and their bait and switch tactics! We recently hired Sears in Alexandria, Virginia, to clean my 1 bedroom condo for $164, which seemed like a fair price. The cleaners briefly inspected the condo and said that it would require a deep soil treatment for $150. I authorized the cleaning believing that they would have to do a great deal of additional work, and also trusting Sear's good name. Well, they finished in 45 minutes! At that point, it was apparent that I had been subjected to a bait and switch scam. The company charged us $314 for 45 minutes worth of carpet cleaning work, which is excessive by any objective standars. I called the company many times, they refused to reduce the price by even $1. I left three messages for the manager, Bruno, who never returned my call. I am very unhappy with this service and with Sears, in my opinion I have been the subjected to a bait and switch scam.
