Shipping Rip-off
Needed a new carburator for my snowblower. The part was $90.25 and weighs no more than a large egg. Sears charges shipping by the amount of the sale, which makes no sense other than to line Sears pockets with more money. So to ship the order was $15.99 and then ~ $8.50 tax on the entire amount. Now to acquire the part I have to pay ~ 25% of the cost of the part. What a deal... They close parts stores (and save money) they have an automated system with few employees (saving money) and then they gouge you on shipping.

This is the thinist of thinist scams. I wouldn't be surprised if they are not sending collected "sales tax" money to the states that don't require collection.

Very Poor Shipping
On Friday I ordered a door seal. I was told that it would be delivered on Monday. Ieven got the email confirmation stating Monday was the delivery date. I thought this was very cool since I hate to wash dishes for my family everyday.
Monday came and went, no part. Tuesday came and went, not part. I called sears late Tuesday and was told that the $14 I paid for shipping on a $53 part was "standard shipping" for a 5-7 ( or maybe it was 7-9 ) business day delivery. WOW, talk about a shipping rip off.
I'll never order anything from this place again... EVER.
Meanwhile, I wash and wash the dirty dishes!!!

Customer Service
Called the 800 number for a part. They sent me to a store in Albany NY, 40 miles from my home. The store was no longer in business. Called back and was promised a $25 gift card for my trouble. Never received it, can't even get the idiots at Sears to admit that this even happened. NEVER USE SEARS FOR ANYTHING, THEY ARE IDIOTS!!!

backordered
I was in a hurry for parts for a deep freezer, sears parts direct claimed to have every part i need in stock.

That was not the case as I am still waiting, over a week later and still no sign of my part being shipped yet. However they will refund my money...for now, then they will charge me when the part comes in. what a joke!

I am through with sears, kmart and whoever else is linked to these pieces of sh!t.

Order Cancellation Policy
I ordered a vaccum part on line. Two hours later I found that the part was not needed. I called to cancel the order but they said that it was their policy not to cancel or change any orders.
This policy is not displayed on the on-line ordering site until after your credit card number is given and the order is confirmed. Only then do they have a "How do I cancel my order" link that takes you somewhere that says that you can't cancel or change the order.
The answer from their customer service department was that they had to have this policy in order to get the parts to me in a timely manner. Parts that I don't want quickly! Now that's service!

Bad customer service
Ordered part for Dewalt cordless drill since the web site said it was in stock. Received an email 2 days later that it was back-ordered. Called immediately and canceled the part, customer service rep said it was canceled. Two weeks later, received another email that the part was backordered, called again to cancel and was told that they could not control their supplier and even though it was canceled, it would probably still ship and that I would have to return it (and pay for shipping). I spoke to a supervisor and she promised to cancel the order. Five days later, received another email saying that the part had been shipped.
I would not recommend using Sears Parts Direct for any reason. Their web site in not correct on the parts in stock, they do not have control of their suppliers and they are not honest in their commitments to customers.

Sears Service and parts center is atrocious
Went to order a part from Sears Parts Direct. Last night sat on hold on number provided on Web Site for 60 minutes with a recording message. Sat on hold for 20 minutes this AM, call was answered and I was informed that I needed to call a different number. Called number and spoke to extremely rude representative. Was looking for possible will call pickup, she indicated there were no service centers in my area, although I am personally aware of 2 centers within 10 miles. Called back to get different representative. Indicated part was not available in my area. Ordered part for next Mon. delivery. Phoned back 5 minutes later to ask to cancel order, as I figured out it made more sense to purchase new stove. Was told I could not cancel order, would need to receive the part and then return (and eat shipping.) This is one of several time wasting experiences I have had with Sears- their service is horrible. Purchased new stove from ABT, local company in Chicago- incredible service and stock. SAY NO TO SEARS. They deserve to go out of business.
