Purchased a Sony XBR TV Jan 08. Midscreen pixels were defective in 18 months. Purchased extended warranty. Screen too expensive to replace according to holder of extended warranty. Rejected claim on our $3, 000 TV. Said they could send $1600 and we could replace via internet. Called the original dealer who told us he'd sell us a 52" Sony - lowest model of the line. Refused to replace the XBR with an XBR even though we paid for the extended warranty. Granted the XBR has improved some features i.e. the HZ but the model they sold us is not up to par with the surround light. It was Bill Smith Appliances - Buyer beware! Also had to pay for delivery and installation again - $250.
