I bought a Straight Talk phone and first month service online. ST walked me through 2 "tries" to set up my ST phone, telling me it would take a little time for the computers to finish setting up my ST service, and for me to try my phone later and that everything was all set. The third time I called they told me that I owed AT&T money and that the money I paid went to AT&T and that I would have to pay ST again to set up the ST phone. AT&T wireless had recently and suddenly started charging me $0.45 per minute for many calls when I still had unused anytime minutes. I am disputing my AT&T bill. ST somehow thinks they can defraud me and collect for AT&T. I am sure my bank will refund my money. This dispute should be between me and FT not my bank and I. Did AT&T create Straight Talk to chip away at their competition? Does AT&T/Straight Talk's ploy violate any FCC regulations?
