Discard Fraud.....Ha!
I was a hard working, loyal, honest cashier at Target for over 3 years. I mostly worked while going to college and remained still working there since getting laid off of my full time job. They gave me 1-2 days a week to work. I always came in with a smile and was always fast, fun and friendly to the guests. The majority of my coworkers and so called management was just another thing. The GSTL's and upper management treat the cashiers and anyone working on the sales floor with no respect and basically speaking down to them like some kind of special needs kid. I just grinned and bared it the best i could.
My mother has allowed me to live rent free at one of her vacant homes until i can get my feet on the ground. I have allowed her to use my discount card over the past few years. She uses it responsiblily and definitely is a very good customer of Target. She just happened to go on this cashier's line that is trying to climb the ladder of upper management. Immediately after my mother went on her line the lady ran to management to rat me out.
I got called into the office soon after and was fired on Black freaking Friday. They told me i was never to work forTarget stores ever again and i said that's fine i think i had more then enough fun here over the past three years.
Like that and no warning...
A woman who worked at Steak N Shake was recently hired at the same store and is now training to be an LOD. (upper management!) This woman has no experience! How does she do it? By knowing someone in corporate. BULLSHIT ON YOU RETAIL!!

MY CHECK WAS NOT HONORED IN TARGET ( BLUE DIAMOND CROSSING). THAT WAS REALLY EMBARRASING. I FELT LIKE A CRIMINAL INFRONT ON OF SO MANY PEOPLE.
THE WORST PART IS I JUST WROTE A CHECK IN THE GROCERY STORE ABOUT 45 MIN. BEFORE TARGET.

EMPLOYEE ABUSE
I have worked at a Target for 4 years and over that time all I see is abusive behaviors out of the LOD's...That stand for Lead On Duty. They are allowed to accuse anyone that doesn't suck up to them of not doing their work or worse. They have been known to set up people to get rid of them also. This is sanctioned by the main company. That is why they go through so many employees every year. Between the abuse and lack of training given new people and the general disrespect given everyone...They are lucky anyone will work for them.
PLEASE do not work for this company...Run the other way when you see these jack booted droids in khalki and red coming to woo you with lies about how great it is to work for them.
DO NOT SHOP THEIR EITHER. They get inferior merchandise in that breaks or wears out before you know it. And they over charge on most items, even though they employ slave labor in 3rd world countries to make their trash.

Dissatisfaction
I ordered a 36 cup cake cake and the label read 24, I called the store to let them know that I received 24 instead of 36. The first person I spoke to was very helpful, upon arrival 2 employees were discussing an order and ignored our presence. After listening to their conversation and seeing their facialexpression I was getting upset. The first employee had cancelled the first order and gave us a new one, the employee at the counter was stating that she was not going to give it us and if we wanted another cake we had to pay for it (in a rude way)! When she was finally done talking about our order, she asked us "How can I help you in a very undecent voice", we then gave her our receipt and she realized she was talking about us! She mentioned to us that the cake did in fact have 36 cup cakes, but the labels that rpint only say 24 because your system doesn't print one that says 36...I don't think employees should be discussing customers orders while they're on the clock and over the counter, this is very unprofessional and makes us not want to come back and just go to Walmart. Thank you for listening to my dissatisfaction!

NOT HONORING WHAT THEYY TELL YOU
I called there this morning and spoke with someone about price-matching. The woman on the phone told me they DID price match and told me what I thought were all the "rules" that they followed to do so. Only after getting to the store and wasting more than an hour of my time did they tell me that they DO NOT price match for certain types of Ads and so they would not honor my price match. Everyone wanted to know who I spoke to that morning, as if me having her name would have changed anything! I didn't know I should have asked for a DNA sample of the person on the phone- to prove I called! I finally told the manager I would never spend another penny in a Target, I left my buggy full of stuff, got the GM's name (the manager refused to give me the district manager's name) and took my daughter and left. It's a shame that this chain has gone down hill so badly. I WILL BE CALLING TH GM ON MONDAY!

Ridiculous termination
Target is such a joke. I was employed there as a cashier for nearly two years. I was terminated due to guest complaints, many of them of a completely ridiculous nature. I have a new job now and I'm not really sure what the purpose of this letter is, I guess I just want everyone to know what a lousy place Target is to work for and to hopefully warn others.
I was a good cashier. Not the best in the place, but I knew how to do my job and it did it well. I checked out customers fast and efficently. In fact, I was one of the fastest cashiers in the store. Due to my social anxiety disorder, I did not converse with the guests unless they began to converse with me first. I kept my lines to a greeting, their total, and a thanks, have a good day. I always made sure to hand guests their change first, and THEN their bills after they tuck their change away (I know how important this is for many people). I was never rude to a customer and was always very patient, helpful, and understanding with people. You would think this would be perfectly sufficent.
Nope.
I got written up for complaints such as "the guest felt rushed", "I didn't make eye contact", "I ripped the card from someone's hand" (never happened), and even one from a customer who was upset that I couldn't take her because I was closed. Basically I had my light turned off was turning away to go punch out for the day. Some lady comes up and I told her "Oh, I'm closed" in a polite tone. Well, she was so offended by that that she complained to my supervisor that I was "rude and extremely innapropriate". What. The. Hell. I fail to see how this was in ANY way, shape, or form innapropriate OR rude. What is wrong with these people?? We only had a couple of lanes open, so she gets pissed when I can't help her and complains about me. Just ridiculous.
The bosses were always nagging me to converse with the custoners and to have a big goofy grin on my face. Look, just because I'm not all smily does not mean I am in any way rude. I'm simply concentrating on doing my job. And most of the time I was very nervous around people due to my social anxiety. It was very difficult for me to chat with customers. It was also hard for me to look them in the eye, but most of the time I DID.
So anyway, in the end they fired me. It's just completely outrageous. I, a good, dependable worker who never called in except for when I had a 102 degree fever, who many times came in when they were desperate for help because they didn't schedule enough cashiers, was fired. However, my co-worker was not fired until several months after me. This co-worker in question is someone who was basically off his rocker. He threatened to chop a co-workers head off, told customers to "go away" and "go read the sign yourself", threw merchandise at my head, VERBALLY abused me on numerous occasions, and screamed at the supervisor, was fired LONG AFTER ME. Apparently it was more urgent that I be terminated. Does anyone else see the logic in this?
Anyone?
The bottom line is, Target is a joke. My new employer recognizes what an excellent (in their words) job that I do. You guys, on the other hand, are PATHETIC. You wouldn't know a good worker if you fell over one. You lost a good, reliable cashier, and you forfeited any money that I would ever spend in your store in the future. So long, suckers!
P.S.: you might want to look into how HOT your store is when older cashiers are nearly passing out and we're not allowed to have water at our lanes. Just a thought.

Rip's you off
I used Target's bridal registry to buy a gift for my cousin. On the entire page it is printed in red next to the item that if you buy 50.00 worth of merchandise you get free shipping. What they don't tell you is that you have to buy 50.00 worth of the same item in order to get the free shipping. In my situation I would have had to buy 5 beach bags (the bride only wanted one) in order to get the promotion that is not explained. My mom thought the same thing when she saw the ad. I spent over 100.00. I was charged 20.00 for shipping. When I called to complain they explained that you had to buy 50.00 worth of the same item in order to get the shipping and then they said that I could choose to combine shipping in order to get less on shipping costs. I assumed that if I bought 4 things, the same day, at the same website going to the same bride at the same address, these things would go in the same box. It was too late for me to do this as it had already been shipped. In talking with customer service, they couldn't find my order after I gave them the 17 digit order number, they asked me to respond to their email, I responded and it was sent back--they really wanted to hear from me--they sent me a do not reply email address that automatically bounces back. Then I got bounced from all of their "customer care" places in different countries who just bounced me to "supervisers". Finally I called their corporate office in Minneapolis and they basically said they would tell some executives but not to expect to hear anything or get anything resolved. I was asking that they clarify their rules so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. They refused and basically said I needed to call the same people that I had already talked to. Frustrating and certainly nothing I would ever expect from Target, a store I once loved. I will never buy anything from them again online. The website is difficult to navigate and the customer service is non-existant and meant to frustrate people so they just give up and go away.

bad service, even by so called supervisor named Krystal
went to Target to look for a book, unable to find it i asked for help to a girl who not only was rude but
very unhelpful. I asked another employee that i needed to talk with a manager because that person was rude and had a really bad attitude... i ask myself why am i gonna spend money at a store with this kind of service?
i came to know that the person i ask for help was in fact one of their supervisors, her name was Krystal and this was very disapointing as i always thought this store had a friendly service. I wish people like that were not working at my favorite store, this is the store on sepulveda and burbank blvd, so if you are reading this watch for poor guest service and rude attitude, hope this blog is read by someone in charge of that store so something can be done.

Refusing our check
After years of shopping at Target and spending tens of thousands of dollars, our check was refused. Washington Mutual went under so my husband and I switched to Bank of America. They stated they were unable to cash our check for $300 because we didn't have a "check history". They were able to use our routing number and check account number to see that I had only written one check for $50 since opening the new account. When I asked them to use my old routing number and account number to prove "check history", they said they could but still wouldn't be able to establish a
"check history" for this new account, thus discrediting me as a honorable customer. Yes, I could have used a credit or debit card but we refused to pay until we called customer service to find out why our check had been refused. I am not white trash. I don't appreciate feeling this way especially from one of my favorite stores. Goodbye Target, you had a good thing going with me.
