Target Reviews

These are no where near the quality of the old Target brand
These are no where near the quality of the old Target brand. They are too thin, too slippery and too wet. Sadly, I purchased a large 'economy' size package, and can't afford to throw them away, but I will not purchase again.

non-English speaking employees
I went in to a Target store in Duarte, CA, looking for a particular item that I saw on the store's web site. I found it no where on the shelves, and decided to ask an employee for help. After I explained to the employee what I was looking for, she, who looked very confused and puzzled, yelled out to another employee about 10 feet away from us something in Spanish. I wasn't sure whether the first employee understood what I was telling her as she never spoke a word to me. She simply turned to the second employee as soon as I finished and they proceeded to have a discussion in Spanish (a language I do not understand). From what I gathered by their tone, they were not sure what the answer to my question was. Then a third employee walked by, and the two motioned for her to come join us. They pointed at me, as though to indicate that I have a question. I asked the third employee if she speaks English, and she answered that she does. I was relieved to finally come across an employee there who understands English. I explained to her what I was looking for, and she pointed me in the right direction.

I came home that day somewhat upset at my experience. So I wrote an email to the email address I found on Target's web site, explaining in detail what happened. The following day, I received a response from someone named Dylan from Guest Relations. He wrote a few short lines in a cold and insincere tone, thanking me for taking the time to write, but never apologizing for what happened. He wrote, "the team members we employ nationwide represent the diversity of the country and communities where our stores are located." Yes, Duarte is a predominantly Hispanic community in southern California. Does that mean I should be subjected to this sort of customer service? I wrote back to the guy telling him I shall never set a foot in another Target store again. He responded, "I'm sorry we aren't able to assist [you] further."

This sort of an attitude from the Guest Relations department of a superstore, is just downright disgusting, and I would have expected better from Target.

rudness with injury
On 5/21, my mom fell on the floor in the grocery section of Target. If the floor was waxed, there was no warning. I have been in stores before that I could not walk on the floor because it is slippery from wax. My mom fell and broke an elbow and had a bleeding lip. She was on the floor, bleeding and the store clerk told her to get up. They did not get help right away, someone else had to call. Warn people when you mop the floor! Don't tell people to get up when they are bleeding! This incident makes me want to shop at Walmart and not Target anymore! Any compensation for this to keep my business?

Selling very low quality products
When my husband and I moved to Charleston and our furniture had not arrived, I bought tv trays to use. Granted, they were $39.00, but I bought them anyway. They are cheaply made in both stain and construction and constantly fold up while we are using them. I would return them, but have no receipt, but don't feel safe having my husband, who has had a stroke, use them. Target was our favorite store while we were in Minnesota and California and for some things I would still shop there. Every other thing we have purchased has been acceptable until now.

Avoid Target stores like a plague
Please bear with me. This will be a long and involved complaint. I had to wait quite some time until I cooled down to be able to write this complaint. On Jan. 14, 2010 at 3:10pm I purchased 207269546 Wii for $99.99. I was offered and excepted a new credit card-Redcard w/discount 10%. The reciept#2-0014-0317-0077-5716-3 VCD#652-240-838. I give all the above information because you will need it to refund my money in my complaint. After I finished with my transaction. My husband, in line right behind me. Paid cash for a purchase of clothing. Unfortunately he did not receive his receipt. (not the 1st time I haven't received receipts from Target) But I wasn't worried because I had my receipt from my Wii purchase and knew that the missing receipt could be traced. On our next visit to Target, Feb. 1, 2010 or Feb. ll, 2010, I wanted to return a dress from the missing receipt and was told that couldn't be done, for two reasons. 1. I didn't have the receipt, and 2. I hadn't used a charge card. Plus the item had been removed from the system. I showed them my receipt that preceded the purchase but they said they couldn't trace it. That just didn't sound right to me. The item for return is bar code #490131105611. purchase price $5.48. I still have it and it is in perfect condition. I still want my money back or a store credit. If this is not resolved to my satisfaction in a reasonable time frame I will have no choice but to cancel my new Target Redcard account.

How can a potential customer know how to make an informed decision with no price listed on the item itself
I went to the Forest Avenue Target in Richmond, VA to purchase a shelve advertised in the 05/07/2010 Target ad insert in the Washington Post. The helpful clerks told me how to find the shelving. I also picked up two baskets where the price underneath them indicated they were $5.49 each (a savings of $1.50 each). But, when I took them to check out they rung up @ $14.99 each. When I questioned the check out person, she said that they were placed incorrectly on the display. However, there was NO price listed anywhere on the baskets. When I asked to see the manager, I got to speak to the same check out person. She stated again that the baskets were incorrectly placed at Target but admitted I would have NO way of knowing that since there was no price on the baskets themselves.

Shame on you Target! How can a potential customer know how to make an informed decision with no price listed on the item itself but a price at checkout three times the price under the product.

They are not a diabetic friendly store
Target is not alone, but I'll complain about them first.Always bought Sugarless TANG at Target and now it seems they have decided not to carry this item anymore and the same is true of a brand of sugarless cookies. This Aurora, Co store used to carry 3 styles of sugarless cookies and now they are down to 1. Guess what I am trying to say is that Target is not a DIABETIC friendly store but they are not alone and I think they are missing a huge and growing market.

They sent my order i a single huge package, that arrived damaged
This is my first time ordering from Target.com . It has been a total fiasco. I am irate.

1) The very large desk I ordered was sent in a single, HUGE, package. As a result:

a) It arrived damaged in shipping.

b) It was literally impossible to get up the stairs to my apartment.

Who on earth made this decision?!

2) When I tried to return the item, this was also impossible because:

a) Target sent UPS to my billing address--not the address to which I ordered the desk! I stayed home from work waiting for them. And now I'm expected to miss a second day of work because of their error.

b) UPS was told there were two packages. (Which, I admit, would have been a good idea. I wish they had thought of it earlier...) So even when they are finally redirected, they will not be able to pick up the one package Target sent me.

In other words, I ordered a desk which is completely unuseable in the form Target delivered it--and now I have to lose two days of wages and $60 shipping if I want to get it out of my lobby.

Are they kidding me? This is completely unacceptable!

Nevertheless I will not be shopping there again
I bought a Haier freezer on Jan. 28, 2010.The freezer was 125.00 on sale. an employee put the freezer on a flat bed. I got to the cashier and she said I could not wait for 10min until my friend gets here in the store that they would have to put it back in stock. Then I said could I wait in front of the store she said no unlesss I pull my car around the front of the store and put it in a vechicle. I pulled car around the front, the freezer wouldn't fit, the guy employee with the flat bed said he could't pull it to the parking lot that he would get fired. So I pushed the freezer to my car half way across the Target parking lot and almost to my car when a lady saw me and help me push it the rest of the way. then a guy from Roadhouse restaurant asked can you help, and said this was very bad we both agreed. Lady said she will not be shopping at Target again and would't go in then but was buying something that had already been picked out, Nevertheless I will not be shopping here again. Just look at your security camera on that date and you will see me pulling a big box across your parking lot. And you see about 6/7 minutes my friend came and picked the freezer up. Every time I ask the cashier a question she would that's our policy, what kind of store policy would not allow a customer to purchase an item and push it to the car. I spent almost 150.00 dollars that day. I have a lot of 150.00 to spend but will not spend them with you. And just think of that domino effect with the other lady and young man plus the rest of the people who saw me and that big cardboard box.
