Store doesnt stand behind the product
I purchased a pair of shoes at TJ Maxx and wore them twice and the straps on the shoes would not stay fasten. This was in a week's time. The did not stay fasten the first time. I took back to TJ Maxx and they would not issue a store credit or even bother asking the manager. I will never buy another pair of shoes from TJ Maxx. I will limit my shopping in the store too. If I am going to buy junk, I can go to Ross, they have good junk.

rude cashier
I wanted to return a pair of designer shoes, and when the cashier looked at the bottom of the shoes, she shouted that these had been worn. I replied that they were not, and she looked at me like I was the biggest lier in the world and accused me again of wearing them. I tried to explain to her and the manager standing next to her that I did not wear the shoes and I would never return used shoes. There was some dirt on the bottom of the platform, but I showed the manager the heel which was untouched. I wanted to bring another pair of the same shoes (or any other) from the store to prove that when you try shoes on, they automatically get dirty and I bought them dirty already (but, it wasn't so bad at all).
Finally, she gave me the money back, but did not say sorry or explain her false accusing. Integrity is a part of my life, and, naturally, I feel very disappointed when people question it in such a rude way. The cashier made a wrong assumption and never apologized. If she did not have an opportunity to learn some ethical manners when being risen up, at least the store should provide some training to improve and/or teach to appropriate behavior and customer service.

Rude Customer Service

I been shopping at TJ Maxx for the last 15 years and had the best customner service anywhere till tonight. While shopping at the Bangor Maine store, I was trying to pick out some diffrent outfits, it was in the last hour that they were open, They had maintenance crew out moving all the racks, everytime I went for a rack they would shove it out of my way and take it stuffing them all in one corner where I couldn't access anything, while in this same time some lady would bellow out on the intercome please hurry an make y our final selections and bring them to the front reminding me every 5 mins they were about to close. These people giving me dirty looks. So at the end of the night I found a few items and the manager MITSY gave me a hard time about trying them on and when I needed a diffrent size she stated "sir we are closed" in a very rude disrespectful tone. So I was unable to make my purchase. Then on the way out she pushed us out the door and locked them behind me. Further more giving me more dirty looks like how dare i even be there.
In All the years I have shopped at TJ Maxx the entire staff has always been excellent. But this one incedent with this one lady, has put a bad taste in my mouth, I don't think I have ever felt that humilated in all my life.
For the record, I have spent nearly a grand a week at this store for a long time, an always enjoyed my experiance there.
Untill this evening this evening this Manager named Mitsy, they called her was one of the rudest people I have ever met. Very poor customer service, and people skills I have ever seen. Tj Maxx and Marshalls is'nt the only game in town, dispite good name brands. I will be bringing my business to Burlington Coat Factory, which has excellent name brands AND customer service.
I will make sure my co horts and affiliates, bring there business elsewhere as the result of this one person. Furthermore, I am not one to come on to these complaint sites, but this business, needs to know that this person has no business in customer service and tonight I felt like the whole time I was there, I was more of a bother to them, and didn't belong.

Very Rude Cashier
I went into the Deerfield Beach T.J. maxx to return some items last week for a friend. I was waited on by a man named Marcus. He immediatley began examing my reciept and the tags on the merchandise as if I am some kind of theif. He looked in some book and then scanned the tags through a computer. After this he came back and said "Hunn, these are 20 dollar shoes not 70 dollar Juicy Coture shoes OK, We wont be returning these, and as for your shirts these are not 40 dollar Ed Hardy shirts these are thrift shop shirts so if you think I was born yesterday you were sadly mistaking" Excuse Me! Who does this kid think he is? I told him i was just doing a favor for a friend. He then told me that he knew exactly what was going on here and also said exactly these words, " Hun on your best day you wont be as smart as i am on my worst day. do you understand?!" I cursed at him and demanded to see the manager. I was rudely greeted by the store manager, an equally as rude and ignorant man named M. Richard who also said the these tags were wrong. Together the two continued to belittle me and embarass me infront of everyone. They kept pointing at some typed letter taped at the register. The two even seemed to find how rude they were being funny because they kept laughing at their own comments. Both of them deserve each other and have no buisness working with the public period!!

Poor Customer Servive
TJ Maxx in Woburn MA has a terrible customer service. I have been through serious illness (cancer) and treatments and was unable to wait for a long waiting line in the check out area, and this store offered no place to sit in the area. So I asked for help. The manager Rick refused to help me for a speedy checkout. Then I waited in a shorter return waiting line and when I was called I told the cashier that I was unable to stand that if she could help me check out. She also said no to me. I ended up buying nothing. I drove all the way to buy one item (I only had enough energy to shop for one item) in the TJ Maxx store. All I received was inhumane treatment! I was sad and outraged. This incident happened on 8/24/09 early afternoon.

Bad employer
I have been a TJ Maxx customer for several years and also a Customer Service Manager at a retail store. Today i was shopping and as i was looking for a pants for my husband one of the employee's came by doing the reshop, and she found a pair pants at the floor ( like every store ) she thought i let that follow and refuse to pick-up. But when i came by was all ready there. So i move on and she star calling me a " FAT LAZY" ... I turn back and i ask her if she was talking to me ? She said : " WHATEVER". After that she follow me my whole shopping. I end up bying nothing. I feel very umcomfortoble. Her name is Martha and i just want ask if that's the way the company treat the customers ? In my store 90% of our costomers have the rights and if one of the employees treat one of a customer like that will end up losing their jobs.

LOST MY RING IN THE JEWELRY COUNTER
I was trying a bangle cuff at the jewelry counter, and I had to remove my ring from my finger because the bangle cuff won't fit and it's hitting my ring whenever I start to put it on ( it has to pass through my hands up to my wrist) . I am very positive that I removed it and put it on top of the glass counter. But, my son had to go to the bathroom and I had to leave right away.
While washing my hands in the bathroom, I notice that I forgot my ring . when I came back at that jewelry counter -nothing on top . I asked for the lady that helped me. She told me she did not see anything.
I knew I left it there, and if there is someone who saw it last - it was her. I would like someone to look on the camera and see how it got lost. That ring has a sentimental value . Please help, I am also trying to contact the lost and prevention. Please put attention on this because I don't want it to happen again.
The woman even said that maybe I left it home.. but, I did not. After I came back from the restroom of the store worrying about my ring _ I can still see the mark on my finger where it was removed. Please call me if you hear anything ( 916) 833-3812 Maria/Maripe

Lied about return policy
TJ Maxx has a return policy that you can return merchandise w/o a receipt within 90 days. I went in to get store credit for an item and the employee - Jenn Whiting and the manager - Shan Lee would not return the item.
They said it was not "in the system. However, I bought the item and tried to return it within 3 weeks --well within TJ Maxx's 90 day return period.
PROBLEM:
Misleading return policy. Item should have been in TJ Maxx's database and it wasn't.
Jenn Whiting was a rude employee and Shan Lee, the manager, was not helpful.

Unprofessional employees
I have frequented TJ Maxx for many years and have usually had decent customer service. This complaint isn't going to make me stop shopping there but it's to make others aware what to expect. <br />

I was there 2 days ago looking for a pair of jeans. I had an armful of jeans when I went to the dressing rooms. I waited patiently for somebody to come count my items and give me one of those number things so I could try them on. After about 5 minutes of waiting and two employees came out and immediately started talking to one another about, no lie, her "baby daddy" and how he's screwing her out of child support and whatnot acting as if I wasn't even there. <br />

I'm generally not one to complain about stuff like this but after asking if I could try my stuff on she rolled her eyes at me, took the stuff out of my arms to count and continued talking about all this stuff with the employee like I wasn't even there. <br />
<br />
I know the whole retail experience is generally not great but I don't think that's any excuse to roll your eyes at a customer for wanting to try on clothes just because you want to continue your conversation. I wasn't being some annoying person or anything.

terrible costumer service!
I was disgusted! A few days ago I was returning some items for my mother. She handed me the items and the receipt, and I went on my way to return it. I was just the messenger for her and didn't know nor care about the items or when they were bought or what they were, etc. I stood in line and when the woman finished with the costumer in front of me, i walked up to the counter. she didnt look at me or acknowledge my presence, so i waited. without looking up after a few minutes, she said "Go ahead!" Um, excuse me? I pulled out my items and handed her the receipt. She stocked her leg up in front of her, started chomping her gum and reviewing the receipt (like a true professional... not!). after a few minutes she looked at me and said "This time ill give it to you, but it is past the deadline and that is completely REDICULOUS" she shoved the receipt in my face and showed me the deadline, THEN took a pen, circled it, and shoved it in my face again (in case i was completely blind the first time??). i said ok calmly, because it was NOT my receipt, i had no idea, and was not in the mood to deal with her rudeness. she kept going on about how now shes going to have to go out of her way to make extra markdowns because of careless costumers, blah blah blah. get over yourself, hotshot, and learn how to talk to costumers! A simple respectful explanation about how its past 30 days and too late to return it would have been fine! I left completely angered and embarrased. but I was in a rush and did not have time to speak to her manager. What an old hog, I remember her name and hope to return and tell her what a disgusting employee she is.
