being ripped off on minutes
On 6/23/o9 I went on line to purchase minutes for my tracfone. When i had put the information in. i was to turn the phone off and then back on. When I did that. the phone would not power up. All it would do is vibrate. I called tracfone on my home phone and it took me 2 1/2 hours to get everything tranfered over to my other phone. That phone was inactive but it still had 34 minutes on it. When the lady I was talking to transfered everything, I asked about the minutes I had bought. She told me that the transaction did not go through . I purchased another 60 minutes for $21.19
and they were put on my phone. Now I have two charges for $21.19 on my bank account for minutes. I want my money back for the 60 minute card that she said DID NOT go through. I called tracfone and had an argument with one of the persons who answer the phones. I was transferred to a supervisor who put me on hold then hung up on me. They refuse to give me my money back I am sick and tired of being ripped off by this company because they own NET 10 also All I want is to get my money back.

Turning Off A Sick Woman's Phone
My Mom who has never put time on her phone before wanted to do it and accidentally pressed enter before she could enter the airtime card code.
I had to call back a 2nd time about 30 minutes after the first time because the first person I spoke to was so rude and abrasive. Now you want a faxed copy of the 60 minute card that came with the W376 refurb bundle I purchased my Mom last month. I don't have a copier or a fax machine and don't have a Kinko's or UPS Store to go to do anything like this like Alberto was telling me to do to.
If it had been my Mom calling she wouldn't have had any idea what you were asking her to do when it comes to all the faxing and copying particular things.
Your policies make no sense and just like every other business now as long as you've already gotten our money you don't really care. You are holding the minutes I already paid for my Mom's phone hostage. The only thing you all could find out of sort was that one bonus code going through. You could at least let let the phone be used until the minutes run out and then kill it.
In one breath you say you want a faxed copy of the airtime card that came with the W376 bundle, then in the next one you say if I can't get the card to you then I could just buy another one of your phones.
My Mom has lost use of her only cell phone one that she knows how to use and can actually hear on. She has a hearing disease and it's hard to find a cell phone she can actually use since she doesn't text or anything like that.
If you won't turn her phone back on completely at least let her use the minutes she has left that have already been paid for. Just remove the 50 minutes that accidentally got added to her account.

missing minutes from account - AGAIN
This company on numerous occasions had deducted paid minutes from our account, which were watched for this very purpose on two seperate periods very closely. When addressed the first time, it literally cost us approximately over 7 hours to replenish over 600 missing minutes taken from our account and then the secound time this had happened and addressed for a greater amount of missing number of minutes, they started sending us through their hoops. That's when we literally trashed their phone and service and the same of so-called customer service and changed over to Consumer Cellular, which for the use Consumer Cellular provides, it is a great service with matching customer service to Boot!!!
This is by no means a solicitation for their service.
WHAT IT IS, IS A WARNING TRACFONE USERS, TO WATCH THEIR ACCOUNT MINUTE USAGE AND TRACFONE DELETION FROM THEIR ACCOUNT CLOSELY AS THEIR DECEPTION IN ACCOUNT DELETION OF MINUTES LEAD TO YOUR LOSS AND THEIR PROFITS AND GAIN.
BETTER LUCK TO YOU!!!

Company nonresponsive to requests
Tracfone does not respect requests to "unsubscribe" from their emails. They keep emailing you even after you've gone through their overly elaborate unsubscribe procedure. Also, their customer service (perhaps in the Philippines) is dim-witted, if well-intentioned.

Rip off
At Tracfone.com, I puchased (3 times) 120 minutes of airtime with an additional 30 free minutes. They billed my credit card 3 x 29.99 . I then did the code entry thing, only to get three invalid codes. I called tech support, got an agent that I could not understand, and was told I would get more airtime. I got no additional airtime. I called the credit dept. at tracfone to get a refund, and I was told that there is no refund because, According to the rep, I was given the airtime, and have since used it up. My call log sure doesn't indicate this, and I got boned $90.00 for 120 minutes of airtime. I didn't even get any of the promos. What a rip off...

Incorrect Deduction of Minutes
Following a 2 minute call to 411 Directory Assistance, I noticed that 50 minutes were deducted from my phone. Several calls to Customer Service including a Supervisor yielded no explanation nor assistance. All of them stated that my phone was working fine and they do not know why 50 minutes were deducted. They refused to look at my records even with my authorization to see what calls were made and the length of those calls. The supervisor suggested that I not use 411 anymore since the problem must be coming from them. Huh??
I have 2 phones with them and as soon as the minutes run out (shortly at the rate they are being deducted) they will be cancelled and replaced with another service.

Customer Service
I recently purchased my third Tracfone. Never had any problems with my previous Tracfones so I never had to deal with their terrible customer service.
Problem 1: Porting my old number took nearly a month. Customer service complained that the account number and pin I provided for my old carrier was incorrect. After several phone calls ended up having a three way connection with my old carrier and Tracfone who verified that the information I was providing was correct. I subsequently received a letter from Tracfone saying my request was delayed due to inaccurate information!!! After several weeks Tracfone finally figured out my SIM card wouldn't port and sent me another SIM card. After another phone call to activate the phone with the new SIM card, it didn't activate. After another phone call the phone was finally working.
Problem 2: I ordered minutes on the website and they were not added. When I called customer service they added the minutes and was nice enough to inform me that I didn't need to order double minutes for life as it came with the phone (after all the delays I had forgotten). They indicated however, that I couldn't change my order as they have a policy of no refunds. I couldn't get anywhere with this person and decided to call back. I called back, got the usual run around and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor also wouldn't help me but said she would forward my complaint to the resolutions department. They were suppose to get back to me within a week. They didn't. I subsequently tried emails and got the same run around, but was advised to contact the credit card billing department. I contacted them today is simply requested a refund for the double minutes for life part of my order ($40) and received the same response, that it is their policy to not offer refunds. I was bumped up to a supervisor who didn't seem a bit willing to assist me and also indicated the same thing.
At this point I will be pursuing the various other avenues of complaining as suggested on this site. It goes without saying that Tracfone has already lost me as a customer. Although Tracfone is reportedly a very profitable company, I suspect in the long run, their poor treatment of their customers will eventually impact adversely on their business.

Won't honor double minutes
In the past I bought a TracFone card that offered one year of service plus double minute bonus on FUTURE CARDS. They doubled the minutes last year but won't this year. This is Fraud. Calling has done no good. I shall contact all stores in the are that sell them plus the BBB, Attorney General's Office and local TV station to warn other customers.
