Quality no more
I'm a small business owner whose company is located in a small industrial park.
I can't wait to retire and UPS is putting the proverbial nail in my coffin.
1) Our UPS center is closed from 1-3 pm.
2) When a delivery is made and I'm not at my business, I request it to be left at my neighbors 30ft away. I complained about the driver not leaving a note stating that the package is next door. I pride myself in quick turn around time to my customers and they should let me know a package is available so can work.
Now the driver is cold to me.
3) I try to get a package out and deliver it before 1PM to get it out yet. That doesn't always work, so I go to my neighbor who is sending out many packages daily, because I'm semi-retired and I'm not going to wait until 3PM to bring the package to UPS. Now my neighbor said that the UPS driver complained that I don't for pickup and that extra packages shouldn't accepted by me and his other neighbor.
I'm losing my appetite for UPS now for they used to be conscienteous neither.
This not done, but perhaps 5 times a month "tops"
Another thing is my shop covers a large area and if I'm not there in a few seconds- very heavy door pounding begins.
Sometimes it can take up to 30 seconds to reach that door. That whole attitude is disrespectful and disgusts me. The sad thing is the driver takes home much more than I do.

$200 Zappos not received
UPS was delivering what looked like my order, but they said no not for my trailer number. I saw them deliver to my neighbor's trailer, back door (where I wouldn't see it?) and now I have no Zappos, and am out $200 and no one knows where my order is. I can't get any help from UPS b/c they say they delivered to porch. They just didn't say which!!

Is anyone watching out for us?

Packages are being sent to strangers and singed for and the tracking form just says
Our packages are going to other people, including me, my neighbors and neighboring businesses and those that go missing and are not returned by the unintended recipient only show up on the online tracking records and form as "Delivered" and under "Proof of Delivery" is a single random name that is untraceable!
After signing for some parcels and getting them indoors I noticed that one of my packages was unusually heavy. Well that was because it was a batch of merchandise for a neighboring store!
I took the package over to the rightful owners and they said that they had gotten packages from their UPS stack and signed for them only to discover some were for stores as far as two blocks away! They were kind enough to haul all of them to the shops that were missing their awaited boxes and product deliveries. Even if you ask for notifications, hours later it only says it was indeed delivered. However it doesn't say to what address or the last name of the person who allegedly signed for it, this is a problem when you don't get your box and can't prove that you didn't get it because it is officially logged in "delivered" and as signed for and they even have "proof"!
My recently missing package only says that it was "delivered" and under the option for "proof of delivery" it only has a random name which was impossible for me to track down, apparently not everyone in our neighborhood is honest, but then again who's to say it even wound up in my neighborhood.
Even when one company that sent my package specified that a signature was required, the notice on the website tracking said it had been delivered and added simply "Left on the front porch". Which is little consolation and far from the signature required, but UPS considers that "delivered". So tough luck.
One box of mine that was taken in a few doors down from me was in a stack of boxes and so the shop that received it never noticed that it had been torn open! The massive hole so big that I pulled out the entire contents without even having to open it! Horrified about the situation, the woman there said they would have refused it had they seen the gaping hole, but it having been in the middle of a stack it was missed.
The next two boxes that wound up elsewhere were also opened and not even with attempt to hide that the tape was cut off with a knife! However having known the neighbor's that the boxes were surprisingly delivered to, I was sure that after decades of knowing me and never having shredded boxes before, they had not done the damage themselves!
My last UPS box had just cut one side of the security tape (special non-standard shipping tape) cut and so I figured maybe it was intact and untampered with, but upon pulling the side where it was cut I discovered the box folding opened so that the flap could be pulled open to get inside of it, instead of cutting all the tape off one only had to cut one side and pull over the flaps and bend the cardboard to open it!
Here I thought that for once only one side had been cut and thus it was safe, instead of all three sides being cut open, upon pulling the panel that was cut open of security tape, wallah! The panel popped open and my whole box was opened!
Tearing open one panel was almost sneaky, although it they were not too worried about being caught as even upon my getting it I could see that clearly the taping was cut through on one panel before it had gotten out of the truck. None of these were "accidental tears" either, they were clearly deliberate and left no mark except where the tape was cut. I would think that if it happened before the truck took it out someone would either notice or in the case of the large hole the stuff would have landed all over a warehouse floor and someone would have sealed it back up for security in transport. There's little sense in guessing since my research shows that UPS doesn't give refunds or take responsibility for much of anything, even when pictures are shown or the package and it is refused due to the damage and the driver marked it as damaged in another truck, as long as later on someone says it looks fine to me, they won't give anyone a refund.
I know the shop owners well and since I saved their business from a calamity once or twice, they are quite kind in letting me check for boxes and I have known the secretary there at the front desk for over 25 years and she definitely did not tear open my boxes! She is a friend of mine and already knew there was nothing of significant value in them, but anyone assuming the label on the box was not from a recycled box would think that there was something valuable inside potentially.
Only the boxes that had the labels from the one company turn up opened, but they must be disappointed as they put everything back upon discovering there is nothing of value inside as the box might suggest!
So I suppose that is several complaints in one.

Delivery to wrong address
I often order from a few select companies that ship merchandise via UPS. I live in a rural area and have never had a problem in the past with them delvering packages to my front steps / front porch someone is not home. On Friday I receive a call from a neighbor that we have many issues with that I had a package delivered to their house. First off I was not pleased about this as I had given no authorization for UPS to deliver anywhere but my address. Since its a company I order from frequently - the address on the shipping label was correct. I have gotten two different stories from the neighbors - one is they weren't home when the package was left at their address...the second story was that the UPS truck made no effort to even make a delivery to my house. I consider myself lucky to even get my package back from these neighbors. While I do not wish to get anyone in trouble - I also do not wish to have my packages delivered wherever the driver feels like it. There needs to be accountability.

Poor Customer Service
I am very upset with United Parcel Service -UPS and their complete disregard for my damaged shipment of dishes and memorabilia from my parents premises after their deaths. I received two packages which were packed with abundant package materials but some of the items were broken. I reported a claim and no one would even come out and look at the packages and how they were packed. I had to take the photos myself and email which I did send over 40 photos of each box. Then I was told that the claim was denied with no reasoning or explanation which was disturbing and that I was supposed to call the sender that packaged it for them to ask for a review of the denial. All of this has taken months with multiple phone calls and time spent which has not gone anywhere. I even purchased extra insurance coverage when I sent the packages. I think that is a scam in that you pay for extra coverage which they know they will then deny the claim so they pocket the extra money. Very Sad state for UPS to do this kind of thing. There should be some process that a consumer can take that is not so onerous and difficult. Don't trust UPS for carefully shipping any of your belongings. I would go to FEDEX or even the United States Postal Service. Thanks for listening and letting me get this off my chest. My email is [email protected] if you want to tell me about your complaints against UPS.

Awful customer service
I posted a wedding ring online through craigslist. The ring was worth $26000, but I had it for sale for $20000. I was contacted by a supposed couple that lived in Louisiana. They stated that they were headed to Denver for their anniversary. I spoke to them off and on for about 5 days. They decided that they wanted to buy my ring. I researched the safest way to ship the ring and get payment. I called UPS several times and they all told me that through COD, they would pick up whatever form of payment I requested, and if it was not what I requested they would not hand over the ring. I decided to ship through COD. I also decided on payment thru USPS Money orders since you can’t stop payment on them. I went into our local UPS store. After the cashier, by the name of Kristin, had everything processed, I noticed that my receipt said “Cashiers check or money order, ” I questioned her on this because I specifically requested USPS MONEY ORDERS ONLY for payment. She told me that they come together as one option and then you specify which payment you want in the notes below. In the notes below, it said “USPS MONEY ORDERS FOR COD ONLY!” I have this in writing on my receipt. They also wrote in black, bold, writing on the box “ USPS MONEY ORDERS ONLY”. UPS delivered my package on September 16, 2010 and took payment of an OBVIOUSLY, fake cashiers check and handed over my ring to a man and didnt check ID. I didn’t receive payment until September 26, 2010. I insured my package both ways for $20000 and paid hundreds of dollars for the insurance. I have been calling UPS since then. Nobody ever returned my calls. Finally, today I get a call from UPS saying “Sorry, we can’t help you, we did our part and delivered your package and collected payment. They did not collect the payment requested. The driver basically picked up a check that looked like a 2 year old drew it on a piece of construction paper and handed my ring over to somebody other that the person it was addressed to. the detectives working on the case called into the security dept thur ups and they told them " tell her to sue us, we go thru this all of the time and we always win". I would have never shipped my ring if I knew that UPS was lying to me. They told me they ckecked ID first, collected whatever form of payment I requested, and then handed over my package. They didnt do either. I am now out a $26kwedding ring, that was insured thru UPS, and the have the audacity to tell me "sue us".

Bad service
so i had a package bound to arrive today, august 16.
i was told that their courier tried to deliver the package on august 14, but i wasn't at home. so i tried calling them (main branch, dispatcher, billing service, customer service, all numbers!) but either A) the phone was just ringing or B) the line was busy. I spent around 2 hours calling all of their numbers until someone picked up. She transferred the call to the dispatching person but it just kept on ringing, so she connected me to the customer service number instead. I gave her my details, the tracking number, and then she told me that my shipment will be delivered the day after since ALL OF THE COURIERS WENT HOME BY 8AM. THE HELL! I asked why, and the customer service person said that, because it is monday, a day after sunday (their rest day) there will be a lot of shipments so the couriers will go home? whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
The reason why i chose UPS over the other shipping companies was because I thought shipments were expedited and shipping time was fast, and I needed the package by today (august 16 WAS the guaranteed shipping date, and lo! couriers were gone by 8am? whatwas that??) . A very bad service, in my opinion. Hidden fees, busy lines, no one picking up the phone, etc. I am never going to recommend UPS to my friends and colleagues nor am I to use it ever again. I did not get the service that I paid for.

Sloppy driver parking
5431 S. Tuckaway Circle; Greenfield, WI 53221. 1745 driver was parked in the middle of the parking lot - he could have parked to the side but no had to park in the middle of the drive blocking residents for 15 minutes. Rookie Driver? Black driver thinks he owns the entire parking lot? What an ***. Will have to reconsider other shipping methods next time instead of UPS. Apparently the drivers for UPS's little green turds all need to learn some parking etiquette. I've also received packages in the milwaukee area lately that have had there contents hanging out so to speak upon arrival. You call this service. Take your union and find a real job.

UPS acts like they are delivering gold or something
Due to my job, I get alot of shipments through UPS. Where I used to live, UPS had no problem leaving the packages on my front porch, and never required a signature in order to leave the packages. March of 2006, I moved roughly 3 miles from where I was living, and now UPS requires a signature to leave a package at my new residence. The problem is, I am out in the field on my job. There is no way I can be here to sign for the packages. This results in multiple delivery attemps, and delays in myself receiving my packages. I have left notes on my front door authorizing the UPS driver to just leave the package on my front porch, yet he refuses to do so. What ends up happening is they will make 3 attempts to deliver the package, on the 3rd attempt they end up leaving the shipments at the complex office. By that time, the shipments are close to, if not more than a week late.
What blows my mind, is the fact that the packages dont contain anything expensive. All they contain is promotional stickers, posters, and other eye catching, and informational promotional stuff for a department in the stores of a retail chain. It would all be useless to anyone else but me. UPS acts like they are delivering gold or something.
The final straw happened on July 22, 2006. Thursday, July 21, 2006, I got home from work, and there was a notice on my door that UPS had attempted to deliver a package, and that they would try again the next day, so on July 22, 2006 before I left for work, I put a note on my front door telling the UPS driver to go ahead and just leave the packages at the complex office. When I got back home shortly before 5PM, there were no packages on my porch, and I went and checked at the office, and there were no packages there. When I got back to my apartment, I took the note down off the front door. There stuck behind my note, was another UPS delivery attempt notice. The driver never bothered to read note on my door.
So now, I have to wait until sometimes next week to receive my packages, again.
