I think UPS should have to reimburse the company I ordered from because this is clearly their fault
UPS shows it delivered a package to my door on 4/23 at 7:11 p.m. I never got the package. I arrived home that night no later than 7:20 and there was no package. That means either: 1. Someone managed to steal the package within minutes of delivery, which means they were probably following the truck. 2. The driver is lying and kept the package himself., It was jewelry which was probably obvious from the size and return address. Now the jewelry is no longer available so even though I'll probably get a refund, I won't get the ring and bracelet I wanted. My biggest complaint about UPS is that they leave the packages in full view of anyone driving by. I have a porch with shrubs in front so why don't the drivers have the sense to hide the package behind the shrubs so it's out of view from the street? This should be part of their training. Surprisingly, I've never had a package stolen before and I order often. I think UPS should have to reimburse the company I ordered from because this is clearly their fault.

I think their driver doesn't give a crap about the job
My package arrived at the local facility the day before first attempt, though the notice was marked final attempt. When I looked online, an exception status says customer requested pickup at facility that I never done. WTF? How could I do that if I never receive the notice until first attempt and I didn't give instruction for this to the store where I bought the merchandise. Package delivery have become suspect for some time. I think their driver doesn't give a crap about the job.

The package wasn't delivered until over a week later
I shipped out a package via Next Day Air on 2/11 and it wasn't delivered until over a week later. When I realized on 2/12 that it wasn't going to be delivered that day, I called to figure out an alternative. I offered to pick it up at the facility and hand deliver it for them, but was told it was a security risk. The recipient offered to go pick it up and she was told that she couldn't until they made the first attempted delivery, and they didn't know when that would be. Each time I inquired about the status of the package, and if/when it would be delivered, I was fed excuses about the weather. I was even told that they weren’t making deliveries in that area due to adverse conditions – and I knew it wasn’t true because the recipient received a package shipped via Ground on that Monday! I filed a complaint with the BBB and UPS’ response was a very generic canned response about the weather and that there was adverse weather conditions during the week of 2/13. This wasn’t true! The blizzard we had happened about a week prior to me shipping out the package and a UPS spokesperson (in a Washington Post article) said that services were only shut down on 2/10, and that they were back up and running on the 11th – the day I shipped out the package. My rebuttal was about how disappointed I was in their response, and pointed out that the adverse conditions they mentioned happened a week prior (so no excuse), and that if they couldn’t deliver when promised, then they shouldn’t accept those types of packages (along with the hefty payments to ship them!). I would have been happy with a sincere apology, and even if the package was delivered a few days late, I would have even accepted that! Taking over a week to deliver a Next Day Air package is beyond reasonable. Unfortunately, I received their rather snarky rebuttal today that basically said I wasn’t lied to (not true), and that it looks like we won’t see eye to eye on this one. Talk about crappy customer service!!!

Packages intended for others delivered to my door, damaged packages delivered
I have had multiple negative experiences with UPS recently: packages intended for others delivered to my door, damaged packages delivered, automated telephone lines that do not offer options to remedy these problem, UPS stores refuse to provide any information or services to address these problems. UPS treats third parties (in this case, me) as responsible for company errors. They expect those who are victims of their errors to remedy them, re: deliver packages they deliver to the wrong address, spend time on their ill-conceived automated phone lines trying futilely to address their errors, waste time trying without success to get help at UPS Stores. UPS was once a reliable company. No more! In my professional position, I oversee a substantial amount of shipping. I will no longer use UPS and I urge others to follow suit.

UPS taped up the box and proceed to deliver without notifying anyone about the damage
As a sender, UPS could not deliver to an address that was complete. Someone at the receiving location never saw the UPS person try to even deliver the package at the time they say they attempted. To clear up their mistake, I had to contact the company sending the product who then in turn had to contact UPS. UPS charged the company for an 'address change.' Incompetence!

As a receiver on the same day, the box was damaged and a vase that was supposed to be in the box was not there. How could UPS tape up the box and proceed to deliver without notifying anyone about the damage? I will avoid using them in the future.

The UPS driver didn't actually notice me as he rolled through a stop sign as he was too busy texting on his cell phone
The UPS driver didn't actually notice me as he rolled through a stop sign as he was too busy texting on his cell phone. Not only does this have the potential for disaster but here in Austin it also illegal. This guy is a disaster and a danger to the people of Austin.

Awful and dirty service
UPS Delivered two large truck tires on a rainy day; tires arrived at the door wet. Both of the tires was also full of fresh dog crape that I noticed after rolling them through my home to the garage. Soiling my carpet, my hands, and just stunk up home. It took me, my wife, and child three hours to clean up the mess.

Driver drove too fast and reckless
A UPS driver just dropped a small pkg at my door (residential). I watch him go down the driveway (to wave thank you if he turned around). He gets in the truck, goes to the rear, returns to the front and throws plastic shipping staps into the street!! UPS (I thought) must expend a great deal of effort in screening their hires. RARELY have a seen a driver drive too fast or reckless. It appears that's not the case anymore. Glenview, Il.

This will be my last experience with UPS
I work in customer service and really try to see things from all sides when talking to someone and the roles are reversed because I know that being screamed at for something that may or may not be in your control is not easy. While I normally just move on and choose not to do business with the company anymore, I felt I needed to share this one. Whether it is due to a lack of competition or just because they feel like they can do whatever. So here is my last and final interaction with UPS. I ordered something online to be shipped. It initially was back ordered. Finally, when it was to be delivered I had a family issue that interfered with me being able to accept the package (my fault). The call tag is left and states that they will return the next day after 5. Now, if you have ever gotten an info notice from UPS, you know they have time options that the driver checks off (before 10:30, between 10:30 and 2:00, 2:00-5:00, and after 5). Again, my ticket is checked off for after 5pm the following day. Cool, so I arrange to leave work early and get home by 4:15 p.m. Upon my arrival I find yet another "sorry we missed you" call tag on the door. I look up the info and see that they attempted delivery shortly after 1:00 p.m. - much earlier than the "After 5" as indicated on the call tag. As this is the second attempt, I only have one other option for delivery which is the following day now checked off between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - a time in which I cannot take off for work.

Normally, I would just arrange to pick up the package at UPS but this is 144 lbs package so that was not an option in my little 4 door car. So I call UPS and the customer service rep answering the phone explains that the tag is just an estimate and that actual delivery depends on the driver's load and route. So I inquire why they have boxes on their info tags. Giving a two our window is already an estimate - now, we are stating that isn't good. I asked why multiple boxes were not checked then to follow that logic. "Its just an estimate sir we do not guarantee a time". I ask if I can pay extra to have a time guaranteed, offer to pay more for a saturday delivery or anything I can do to avoid this being returned and still delivered. No response. So we repeat this process with Valerie who identifies herself as a supervisor with an identification # of 2314. As I see I am getting nowhere, I hang up and call the retailer who tells me that the shipment DOES NOT REQUIRE a signature and there is NO REASON WHY they cannot just leave it at the door. The retailer does a three-way conference with UPS and I hear the entire conversation including the person admitting that they could have just left the package. At this point, I am ready to go thru the phone.

I call back to UPS and a very nice person answered the phone. I ask to be transferred to Valerie at extension or with identification # 2314. The lady tells me that she cannot transfer to someone. I inform her that she identified herself as a supervisor and the woman informs me that there is no supervisor by that name. Perhaps UPS has different call centers or perhaps Valerie #2314 was just pretending to be a supervisor but if the THIRD person with UPS could see that no signature was required, why couldn't the great Valerie Supervisor #2314 see it or the person I spoke to prior???

Not to sidestep the initial issue of why do we check off one box and deliver 4 hours earlier??

This will be my last experience with UPS - ULTIMATE PACKAGE SCREWUP!

I was threatened with extra charges or having the desk disposed of
My daughter paid an extra $100 for delivery of a desk to a residence. The desk is one she moved by herself; she is athletic, 5'8" and a normal build. They first quoted her one price, but then changed the amount to double that after she agreed to have them ship the desk. She was leaving the country and could not spend days trying to get them to honor the first quote. Finally, they honored it, and agreed to ship the desk to our front door.

The San Francisco person who helped her palletize the desk was FANTASTIC and HELPFUL. They were running late but still made sure to get the desk that day because she was leaving town. Excellent.

In DENVER, SERVICE WAS THE WORST OF ANY DELIVERY I HAVE HAD IN 10 YEARS. I was told that the desk would be LEFT IN THE PULL-THROUGH DRIVEWAY IN THE SNOW, because they aren't "allowed" to bring it up two steps to the door. IT WAS ONE STEP, OF LESS THAN 7" BUT HE CALLED IT TWO STEPS. I was then told I could sign the delivery slip NOW and accept any damage that may occur or they wouldn't even take it off the truck; rather they would take it back to the shipping center and "dispose" of it or charge me extra to bring it back.

WHAT A RIP OFF JOB. I think they were trying to get me to tip them to do their job. Had they been business-like, there would have been a tip. Instead, I was threatened with extra charges or having the desk disposed of.

It gets better - I am 56 years old and can move the desk with very little help. My husband had shoulder surgery, which is why my daughter paid extra to have it delivered to the house instead of a storage locker site. The desk fits in a bedroom and is not a huge piece of furniture.

To top it off, they then told me it weighed more than they realized. How did it gain weight between receiving and delivering it?

Brian, the "boss or dispatcher" was the one that threatened me. Thanks, Brian. I have built houses for a living, have lived in several countries and have moved a lot. Your name will always be remembered by me because of your attitude and threats. Exceeding bad service.

Our daughter, who is moving to Europe, was thinking of using your company for moving her other things. No way she will do it now. I called her at the airport to verify the terms of service while the delivery was here.

I have photos of the desk, the driveway, the steps. I would like to post those photos, also.
